Enabling environments encourage babies and children to play because they feel relaxed and comfortable. A wonderful greenhouse area was set up by amazing teachers at TCH this week following interest from the children. The children have also had great fun creating masterpieces for the displays in their rooms. Displays that represent the true work of the children help promote self esteem confidence and a sense of belonging.

Due to the change in season Noddy’s have now changed to their summer menu. During our 4 week rolling menu children will have the opportunity to taste some wonderful new foods alongside their favourites, including, Chicken, mozzarella and tomato bake, Salmon and Cod fish bakes, Savory puffs with cheese and sweet corn, home made quiche of the day, Raspberry and Elderflower jelly, lemon cheesecake, fruit salad and yoghurt and smoothies. We look forward to hearing the feedback from children and parents.

Children having been busy exploring their newly set up rooms today. A yellow experience using loose parts was made for the children to explore in one room and in another a great area of more natural loose parts supporting open ended play. A cafe encouraging imaginative play and shared experiences and a new construction area for the children to role play as architects.

Fantastic changes have been made to some of our rooms across both schools this week. New opportunities for children to explore with loose parts, natural materials and open ended resources. All supporting our children’s communication, physical development and personal and social skills.

Our children have been observing the eggs at our nurseries closely. They have enjoyed predicting what will happen next and how animals grow and change over time.
Now that our ducklings have hatched children are enjoying taking turns in caring for them as they grow and being concerned about their welfare. Children are often seen at lunchtime checking the ducklings food bowl ensuring they have enough to eat and drink

Another great week at Noddy’s where children are able to explore and develop in their own way and at their own pace in amazing environments. Natural open ended play offers opportunities to engage in wonderful dialogue with staff and their friends, the development of problem solving skills and amazing creativity. Our older children were asked to think about what Easter means to them, with the majority mentioning chocolate!

Staff have been supported in setting up amazing loose parts areas today for the children to engage in open ended play. Play that supports creativity, imagination, exploration and curiosity with no fixed outcome.

Having fun in their new shop today, offering the children food from around the world, the flags representing the countries that all the children and staff are from. Lots of discussion was heard between the children as they took on the roles of shop keeper and consumer.

The children have been invited to play in the Noddy’s supermarket today as they develop their interest in looking after ourselves and our environment. They are using their communication and creative skills as they take on the different roles and using number as they pay for their shopping.

We have a member of staff currently on holiday in India. The children have seen pictures of how she has been celebrating the ancient spring festival of Holi, a festival of colour. The children joined in the fun too, here in Putney.

The children have enjoyed a fantastic ‘Art week’ at Noddy’s. They have been involved in making their own art galleries and exhibits to go in them. Discussing different art museums around the world that some children can share from their own home countries, learning about different artists, including Picasso, Van Gogh and Renoir.
