A fantastic central London hotel, perfect for both business and leisure. Located a short distance from the likes of St Pauls, Tate Modern, Fleet Street and even Covent Garden, guests are spoilt with plenty of places to dine and shop nearby. (Nearest Tube Station being Southwark; Jubilee Line)
Although on a main road (you can’t miss it!), the hotel is ultra quiet, so brush aside any fears of... not getting a good night sleep!
As with all Novotel’s, the rooms are fully equipped with everything you need, and the main desk can help with any essentials that you may have forgotten, i.e. a toothbrush.
Blackfriars offers 3 types of room: Suite – with a separate living room, bedroom and bathroom with a rain shower and bathtub. Including; two 32″ TV’s, music docking station, Nespresso machine, safe and extra Executive amenities. Superior – A glass partition between the bathroom & bedroom transforms from a clear to opaque finish. Includes a luxury rain shower, free Wi-Fi, 32″ TV with media hub, safe and minibar. Executive – Enjoy the 32″ TV with media hub & free WIFI, music docking station, Nespresso machine, safe, extra amenities, bathrobe and rain shower separated by a glass partition that transforms from clear to opaque.
PAUSE loves: The plug points in the headboard – so handy not having to jump out of bed to check notifications while the phone is on charge!
Had a long day and can’t be bothered to go out to eat? Well Blackfriars has a great restaurant on site called Jamboree, which has an international menu, so there is something for all palettes. Open from 12pm-10.30pm, guests can enjoy both lunch and dinner in the hotel, before slinking up the their room. In the evening, they have great entertainment; for example a singer/guitarist who takes requests from the audience! It really boasts a great atmosphere, teamed with tasty food and drink, making for a fun evening.
Keen to relax? Blackfriars has a perfectly petite indoor swimming pool, sauna and fitness centre. Great for a early morning work out, or end of day swim.

lan praises the hotel’s central location with amazing views over London as well as the high tech rooms. Regarding the F&B offering, Alan writes, ‘The colourful Jambore...e Foodfest & Bar concept brightens up the hotel bar and restaurant combination area and offers a range of International cuisine with a modern twist. This bright, snazzy and relaxing environment is a real opportunity to enjoy a quiet drink or trying a range of dishes, and really makes a change from the often staid and traditional hotel bars and restaurants you quite often find.’ Alan summarises his view at the end stating ‘the general ethos of the hotel is contemporary, professional with clear and distinct design features that create a bright and upbeat experience, the hotel staff follow this approach and were attentive, friendly and efficient throughout our stay’.

The staff are all friendly, breakfast buffet is good and rooms are clean. Can't complain! I would definitely recommend this and can't wait to come to this hotel again.

Stayed here with my family (2A & 2C) in a family suite on Friday night. When we arrived we were greeted well and booking in was fast. The girls on reception were lovely and explained all about the hotel and it’s facilities. When we arrived in our room, I was greeted with a card from management wishing me a happy birthday. This was a lovely touch. The room was spacious and perfect for as long as you need it for. Don’t press the button in the bathroom unless you want your party to see you on the toilet!!!!
The hotel itself was lovely, clean and full of everything you need for the perfect stay. The swimming pool is warm and is equipped with jacuzzi and sauna. Really no need to take your own towels, they’re everywhere!! We had breakfast in the restaurant in the hotel. Everything you could possibly want you could have. The restaurant manager was extremely helpful and again made my table up with little birthday gifts. We would definitely go back. And all the management and other staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Novotel, you have a great team there �
Stayed at Novotel Blackfriars for one night staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival our room was on the 13th floor it was spotless and very comfortable food was excellent restaurant manager was very welcoming when we arrived for breakfast all night n all a great over night stay would definitely recommend it and will return thanks everyone
Spent New Year here... excellent location literally minutes away from blackfriars bridge and Southwark station! The hotel is within roughly 20 minute walking distance from St Paul's Cathredal and The London Eye. The staff that work at this hotel are very welcoming and friendly and the room was fantastic and very clean! I could not fault my stay here! Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

We didn't eat in the restaurant but the food looked amazing and really reasonable prices. The breakfast was AMAZING!!! My partner was again greeted by more happy birthday greetings and the staff even brought a birthday platter out whilst having breakfast and they all sang happy birthday.
It was definitely and amazing experience and we'd have no hesitation in staying here again. Thank you Novotel for making my partners 30th so memorable.

I was lucky enough to win an overnight stay at this amazing hotel. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. Room was so clean and lovely. If your wanting a hotel in london then i highly recommend this place. Its 7 minutes away from train station and is not to far of a walk from the palace. Will be looking forward to coming back and bringing the children. I cant recommend this hotel enough, we really dint want to leave.. the bathroom was so nice especially the bath and shower. The hotel has everything you need and the breakfast was so nice. Thank you ever so much again for the stay, cant wait to come back xx
I stayed here for six nights with three children in a family suite. Everybody we talked to was very friendly and helpful. The location was wonderful, very safe and close to public transportation. We really enjoyed the variety offered at the breakfast buffet and would certainly stay here again on a future trip to London!

Clean hotel with great friendly staff. Breakfast is good and the restaurant and bar is very welcoming. We had a lovejy quiet room on the 7th floor with a great view of The Shard. 5 minutes walk from Blackfriars Starion and a half hour walk to Convent Garden along the Embankment . We will definitely be back .. thank you 😊

Overall a delightful stay at this hotel. Great location, nice room, lovely bathroom, beautiful balcony and views. My only minor criticism would be at breakfast each morning having ordered coffee it never arrived and I had to make an additional request, but this was swiftly rectified. Also the scrambled eggs on the 2nd morning were inedible but there was an ample buffet breakfast and the rest of the produce both hot and cold was good so you wouldn't leave hungry. However, I think the icing on the cake here are the staff, from reception through to the bar/restaurant, they are warm, welcoming, attentive and they make you feel like a valued guest. Would I stay again? Yes. Will I recommend this hotel? Definitely.
I stayed in this hotel yesterday as I do every July. It is a pleasant hotel, my room was clean, the breakfast is wonderful and the reception and breakfast staff very helpful. The rooms on the top floor have great views and I hear the swimming pool is great too. Unfortunately, I have had a bad experience this time as I forgot my watch with great sentimental value and my earrings in the room. Although I alerted immediately as I realised it in the taxi going to catch my Eurostar, I am being told that nothing was not found. But for housekeeping staff's integrity, I would recommend staying there. Check Quora as well on what to do when forgetting items in a hotel: some good advice on hotels' finders-keepers policies but it's one of those situations when it's your word against theirs. Hopefully a solution to this type of situation will be found in the future.
