🎉 Office parties…? 🎈
Like: Good? 😊 RT: A dangerous place to be!?! 🍸 🍷 🍻 🍺 😳 😵 😬

You spoke..... we listened.... We have an early Christmas present for you! An Assault AirBike!
The Assault AirBike is an excellent option for high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts. The seamless transition between hard and easy resistance allows you to focus on your workout without having to scramble for buttons. Plus, cranking the upper and lower body simultaneously will burn more calories than you can on a standard spin bike, making the Assault AirBike your go-to... machine for serious conditioning work, without losing strength and muscle mass.
As the fan turns faster it builds up a greater deal of resistance, which makes you work even harder to overcome it.
So why not come and train at NRG and try this new peace of equipment, just one of many to be added to your gym.
We look forward to welcoming you to the gym soon.

Do you want a full body workout that doesn't take up too much time?
Do you want to increase your fitness whilst working lots of different muscles?
Then you need to try the Versa Climber at NRG Gravesend!
... This Versa Climber is great for your overall fitness, helping you increase the work capacity of your heart and lungs, as well as working a large amount of the muscles in your body, including;
Your Quads and Hamstrings (front and back part of the upper leg) Your Glutes (the muscles in your bum) The muscles in your back (Lats, Rhomboids, Traps) Your delts (shoulder muscles) And your arm muscles (biceps and triceps)
The Versa Climber gets your upper body and lower body working at the same time, which makes it much harder than going on the treadmill but it also means you'll be burning a lot more calories. Just half an hour on the Versa Climber means you can burn around 600 calories! So why not give it a try?
If you are unsure how to use it, come talk to either Callum or Nic at NRG Gravesend as they are level 3 Qualified Personal Trainers, and will be able to show you how to get the best out of the machine and your workout 👍🏻

NRG Gravesend :- Very nice, helpful staff , equipment is easy to use and I have found it very helpful for my needs , abs and core workout and ladies circuit training was really good thank you alex ( in pain today tho lol no pain no gain as they say !! Haha) will deffo be using gym as much as I can during school term times x

User

It does what it says on the tin! If you want fancy poncy gym then pay £30 or more and go to David Lloyd, here you have all the kit needed without the bells and whistles! The only criticism is a bit more maintenance in the toilet and shower facilities would help!

User

I started at NRG about 2 months ago and had 1 to 1 sessions for about a month and I got back to my best after taking nearly 3 yrs out. I've tried 2 out of the 4 PT's and they slaughtered me showing me new styles and technics, I would highly recommend Nic and Alex and as soon as I done a session with Keeley and Jake I will give a honest opinion on here. People who complain about the equipment are those who want a reason to quit as you can do a full body workout with just dumbbells.

User

I have been coming to the Gym 3 times a week the last 6 weeks, and I must say I am really enjoying my morning sessions. The staff are always polite and very helpful.

User

Gym is on another level! Official Hammerstrength, best kit around and the trainers are not only both knowledgeable and friendly but also compete in shows and always willing to give there time and advice. The place to be in Watford!

User

Good range of equipment, good range of classes and excellent price! The staff are all really friendly and helpful too.

For the money you won't find anything better.

User

Best gym in Watford area, very freindly staff and members, eveybody that trains there reguarly knows one another, it is like a social club as well as a gym, prices very reasonable too. Definately reccomend this gym as a former member of the Armed Forces. Also the open day is on this Saturday 9th June, come down and see all the activities going on.

User

Been a member since the day it opened great value for money really good equipment even better now it's 24/7 so don't need to go at peak time when it's busy free 2 hour parking what more could u ask for out of £12.99 membership I love it I won't be going anywhere else!

User

Had my first day at NRG in Gravesend today and was really impressed at what great value for money it is. Staff appeared friendly and approachable, there is plenty of equipment, its clean and has great music to keep you pumped during your workout. I'm looking forward to trying the free classes this week.

User

Good size with a female only area available.

User

The staff that work at the gym are amazing at what they do and so friendly and helpful so I would give them 5 stars but the customer service from Harlands is ridiculous, my contract ran out and I emailed them to make sure it and my direct debit payments were cancelled which they replied to the first time, yet I'm still being charged and they're now ignoring my e-mails.

User

NRG gravesend is an ok gym , value for money I suppose you get what you pay for ,it's basic and has what I need , staff seem ok , cleanliness is an issue , more a social gym than a training gym.. Place can be a right shit hole with weights everywhere at peak times during the day , and equipment being moved too close to each other not allowing you to rack the weights without being caught by someone using the machines , could be really great but sadly lacking in management and care .

User

It is value for money. I can pop in and out, when i like. I don't feel out of place even though I am not young and skinny. Classes are free and it suits me, at the right price. The staff are friendly and helpful too

User

I have decided to cancel my access to the gravesend gym and it's because of this .

This evening after a working out for 20 mins on my abs in the "female zone " ( as at peak time there's no other room ) I was then asked to stop and move as it is the female zone . I was told I had to move either right at the front ( where there are no mats , kettles , dumbbells ) . I would then have to move any equipment I needed to that area . Or I had to move to the back which was completely full of either people working out or weights just left all over the place , as usual . Upon discussing this with the staff , who were polite , I was told that men are not aloud in this area as woman find it intimidating ( in a mixed sex gym ) . At the time I was asked to move this area was completely empty ! I was then told that If I want they do have a regular abs class I can join in with .

Me " is the class mixed sex ?"

Staff " yes it is "

Me " surely that's intimidating for the woman "

Staff " Erm no "

??????????

This is contradiction at its best and an absolute joke !

User

Worst customer service ever! Avoid the gym! They want money for not using the gym, how could you be more annoying? Basically, i havent been to the gym for more then a month because i changed my job, and i wanted to cancel the subscription and they said they still have to charge you one more month! IF I HAVENT BEEN THERE, WHY DO YOU NEED ANOTHER MONTH? Worst gym policy ever. Scammers. stay away from this type of gyms.

User

If anyone has been subjected to the dubious, bullying and threatening tactics of NRG Gym in Gravesend Kent my advice is to make a formal report to the Gravesham Trading Standards Office. If sufficient of you make a formal complaint they will be investigated throoughly and appropriate action taken against them. The descriptions of NRG Gym's shoddy and disgraceful business practise repeated on here have a common theme of deliberate and fraudulent trading. Their intimidating tactics of calling in the Debt Collectors carries no weight as you will find that these collectors are part and parcel of the same holding company. An act of collusion at the very least.

Make your formal complaints to Gravesham Trading Standards - details are here www kent gov uk/business/trading-standards/consumer-pr otection/report-a-problem-to-KCC-trading -standards

You may even find that the end result is that you will receive refunds for any monies taken from you by NRG Gym under false pretences.

If NRG take this down I will place it back on this page automatically and frequently.

User

Gym is well equipped but very cold in winter, so for 3 months a year I can't go. Then I tried to leave, NRG use a dodgy company to handle direct debits, who never answer the phone and if you cancel the direct debit, they charge u £25 a month, which you can't pay as they never answer the phone. I've been trying to leave for 3 months, just spend hours queueing.

Steer well clear!!

User

Avoid this at any cost. The Gym has terrible customer service. No phone number has been listed and if you send them a message, nobody replies. They have outsourced the payments/direct debit to a different company who is also as bad as these. I took a 2-month trial last year and didn't decide to continue with the membership. At the time, they didn't tell me that the account will continue to be debited after the trial period.

Last month I noticed that my account is still been debited of the membership fees. I went to the website and tried to find a contact number, and there's none listed (first sign of a shady company), so I decided to message them via their online form to cancel my membership, hoping somebody would reply, but nobody did. I also tweeted on their twitter handle and there also, no reply.

Then I searched my email, where it said in small prints that I will have to cancel my membership and the payments will continue to be taken. It also said that you can cancel the membership anytime by cancelling the direct debit. I thought that although it was sneaky on their part to continue the debit even without telling me anything verbally, it was still mentioned in the email that they will continue the debits. I went ahead and cancelled the direct debit thinking this would get me rid of these people. After cancelling the direct debit, I got an email from Harlands threatening me to pay the membership fees for a month and £25 admin fees, and if I want to cancel the membership, I will have to pay another one month of membership to cancel it. They also gave me a number to call them to do all this. I have tried them calling a few times, and nobody ever picks up the phone.

I will just have to try calling them and hope that I get through and able to talk to a human being. But whoever is thinking about joining this gym, please do not. Rather than joining this seemingly cheap gym, pay some extra money and join a decent one. I am also hoping against hope that after seeing my post here, somebody from NRG will contact me!!

User

Avoid like the plague!!! (Although most of the staff are very helpful and encouraging, I'm afraid I'm going to have to give this gym the worse score because of poor customer service from Harlands and I shall be contacting the local council about this)

When my bank card was stolen, I instructed by bank to cancel all transactions and direct debits for security reasons, and completely overlooked this silly gym (as I had bigger fish to fry - my contact less card had been stolen and I risked being fleeced)... a week later I received a letter from Harlands informing me that I owed membership + administration fees + cancellation fee (even though I hadn't even cancelled).

Second of all, it has now come to my attention that I was entirely missold their products: I was advised to sign up for the 14.99/month as it was cancel anytime without charge (as compared to the 9 fixed month contract at 11.99) so I opted for the more expensive flexible membership and now they are charging me cancellation fees !!

I intend to call them up at the start of the week to launch a complaint.

I've been trying to leave for 3 months, just spend hours queueing.

Steer well clear!!
