Hello. The first one's IN! #NR #lovemud

User

We took 3 of our under 10’s football teams here for a rookie mudrun as an end of year team builder and I was delighted with it.

The kids had a fantastic morning and all really enjoyed themselves.

It was very easy to book and great communication from Sam Alexander .

On the day we had Tracey and her team and it was well organised and safe for the children.

Thank you Nuclear races , we will be back next year!!!

User

We spent our 2nd wedding anniversary doing our first nuclear event , The 12k rush on Sunday 20-5-18 and we loved every minute of it we will be back again and again with the kiddies to

User

We did our first nuclear race as a team this weekend and absolutely LOVED it!! Such a fantastic atmosphere and the work that went into putting on this event was top notch!! We were all so proud of ourselves at the end

As you can see I’m giving the event five stars however to make it even better I’d just like to suggest a few things:

1) Distance markers - it was hard to tell how far you had gone and how long was left. If markers could be placed at say 3km, 6km and 9km that would certainly help the motivation

2) It would be really good to have “energy stations” serving energy bars/gels perhaps 1-3 along the way.

3) The music at the trenches was awesome and it would be great to have more music at some of the other obstacles.

4) More water stations - it was a very hot day and it’s a pain to carry water with you so a few more water stations wouldn’t go a miss.

My first time doing a Nuclear Race on Saturday. One of the best experiences I've ever had. Loved every minute of it and can't wait to do it again.

User

My first time at nuclear after friends recommendations and boy were they right, the muddiest, the toughest I’ve ever done. Thoroughly enjoyed every bloody minute. Nursing all the bruises and scratches now and trying to walk in a straight line is a struggle!

User

My first nuclear race this Sunday and it wont be my last!!! so much fun, top quality obstacles, extremely well organized, plenty of staff on hand keeping things safe and best events village ive seen! well done

User

My daughter did the rookies event and as usual absolutely loved every minute of it. Great work putting in such a great event for the little OCR runners, she can't wait until September as she will be old enough for 2 laps.

Only 1 grumble I had as a parent, it was a very hot day and it would have been nice to have a water point half way round and at the end of the race as my daughter was gasping for a drink and she had to wait until we had got the bags before she could have one.

User

It’s the sign of a great day out when you’re not sure if your muscles hurt from physical activity or from laughing. Thanks to all the Nuclear team.

User

I usually Marshall at Nuclear, and did on Saturday at Hang Tough and Risk Taker. Thank you Steve in Zone I, and the rest of the gang for such a great day! Then ran my first race on Sunday. I tried to hug every Marshall on my way round! I conquered so many demons and that is due to the fabulous Marshalls and the water crew in canoes. I apologise to the marshalls at the top of the mountain for crying on you, but that ladder was so hard for me to climb, but the euphoria of making it up there was too much to hold in! From both sides of the race, this really is an amazing Nuclear Family.

User

I did my first ever nuclear yesterday and loved it! It's such a great event, from the guy warming us up to every single marshal on the the course there was nothing but encouragement the whole way round, big thanks to the marshal near the low rig who let me wash my very broken hands with his drinking water and have a small emotional moment. It was an awesome day and a great OCR event.

User

Ghost Squad get asked to do a LOT of events; Tough Guy and Nuclear are the only races we do every year without a moment of hesitation. I wouldn't change a thing about it and yet it gets better every year. Do it.

User

First time marshalling for Nuclear this weekend and had great fun. Zone leader for the event village Hayley was awesome and she never stopped always making sure her marshals were ok! Camping was well organised. Loved it and will be back!

User

Did the 12k yesterday and it was incredible! Loads of mud, obstacles were great and so varied and the marshalls were as amazing as ever. My second nuclear race and they keep getting better! #nuclearfamily #lovemud

User

Awesome day. My son aged 6 has done numerous kids races and absolutely loved it. He said he had never seen so much mud. The showers were a great idea to try and clean the kids up after. Will be booking again #lovemud

User

Amazing weekend, from a spectators point of view the event village was fantastic, merch shops, live band, good variety of food stalls, my favourite had to be the two large screens one streaming the deathslide and the other the royal wedding!

From a racers point of view the course had absolutely everything, strength, technical and speed. The splits for the two distances were well marked and the marshalls seemed they had been well briefed.

Only two things I would say might have been a little unclear was the chain drag again, the male and female got into a bit of a mess and couldn't tell which was which, not sure how easy it would be to have one set completely yellow for male / female so then mega clear.

Also some obstacles that really needed sawdust didn't (monkey bars and spinning wheels)

Apart from that I found it a very interesting course, looking forward to seeing how it will be incorporated into the worlds great job as always Nuclear

User

After Marshalling for 4 years, I thought it was time that I experienced it as a racer.......WOW! What an experience and seeing the course in its full capacity, count me in for oblivion next year

User

A brilliant experience. Booked as a surprise for my husbands 40th, organised 15 people to come along and it all went so well. Everyone loved it including myself who is only 6 months postpartum! And the bus who are super fit. Highly recommend it !

User

Saturday was my 2nd year doing rush with my sons, love the start this year... straight in the mud after only about 20 feet 🤪 and the fact they change the course is great 😀 keeping it fresh 👍🏽. Organisation wise it is well done with friendly marshals, lots of guidances and amazing atmosphere, everyone helping everyone else weather they know each other or not 👍🏽... Only thing, which I think it was because it was so warm, but another water station would have been welcome Xx Sunday I marshalled for the 1st time, was nervous but again it was well organised and there was lots of support.. really enjoyed cheering on all the participants. Such a great event, thank you 😊

User

It was my first Nuclear Race obstacle challenge with mud, I had never done it in my life, but I wanted a challenge and it was a great event. I did the “Rush” 7K challenge on 18th May 2018. I was going to do 12K at first but as it was my first time so I thought I’d start with 7K and build up, 12K would have been too much,

I do feel this was too early for me, in the sense that maybe should have started with a different obstecle challenge with less obstacles, before doing Nuclear Races. So I could build up my fitness, experience and challenges gradually.

Love the atmosphere and most importantly everyone is very friendly, they all help each other, I had people helping me when I was struggling on certain obstacles.

The minor points:

1. Markings need to be more clear around the course, as there were points were I didn’t know where to go and almost got lost. Luckily there was staff to help put me on the right track.

2. There should be also distance markings of how far you have traveled throughout the course. - where after you have passed a certain obstacle at a certain point of the course it would have been better to have a board saying, this area you have done 4K for example. It felt like I was running endlessly. All the running challenges I have done in the past always have that, 1K, 2K, 3K, 4K, 5K markings etc...... this would be more clear for people to know how far you have travelled and how long you have left to travel.

3. There needs to be more volunteer staff in between after certain obstacles in the fields. as there were points after the obstacles running accross fields, there wasn’t any, what would have happened if someone had collapsed or had something more serious like a heart attack and there was no staff at a specific point, could be disaster.

3. Think there needs to be more water stations for the 7K as I think 3 is not enough.

But despite that, I loved it, and would love to do it again in the future. Loads of mud, obstecles, and challenges

Thank you Nuclear Races for a challenging, but exiting day.

I LOVED it!!
