Join us for a free 2 day workshop exploring and celebrating the migration stories of the Windrush generation. By the end of the project Newham will have an art installation that will travel around Newham Council public spaces to be enjoyed by residents.
Dates: 20th October 1-3pm 27th October 1-5pm ... (We encourage people to come to both workshops, but if you can't don't worry. We'd still love your input)

We will use art and print to allow the imagination and compelling stories of diverse communities to shine through in one final installation. This will tell the story of migration to the UK from a variety of countries
This project will have a strong focus on 70th anniversary of Windrush and the creation of the NHS. Documenting / passing on experiences through generations and across communities is our main focus
In recent years there has been a disconnect and challenge with young people understanding their identities and often this is merely down to not having an expressive platform
A project such as this could enable those barriers to be broken and also allow create a platform for young people to allow elders to understand them. As well as creating better understanding between different cultural groups living in Newham
