Childrens Oral Health Campaign The Oral Health Foundation suggests that the main cause of tooth decay is not just the amount of sugar in the diet, but how often it is eaten or drunk. The more often your child has sugary foods or drinks, the more likely they are to have decay.
If you want to give your child a snack, switch from sugary snacks and try to stick to cheese, vegetables and fruit.
... Avoid drinks containing sugars, including fruit juices, between meals offering water or milk instead.

Good luck to Flake Fleet Primary School in the final of Britain Got Talent!
Thank you to Radio Wave for supporting the launch of the BHF Blood Pressure Service at Cleveleys Pharmacy.
Make a sugar swap! Did you know just one or two everyday swaps can really make a difference to how much sugar your child is having, while still keeping them happy?
Children in England are eating an extra 2,800 sugar cubes a year, which is more than double the recommended guidelines. That's 8 cubes too many each day!
... Change4Life is here to help your family cut back on sugar, with lots of great tips and ideas. www.nhs.uk/change4life/food-facts/sugar/s ugar-swaps-for-kids

Prepare yourself for the bank holiday pollen bomb! Over Easter weekend Fylde Coast residents were hit with what national weather forecasters were calling a ’pollen bomb’. The bad news is that the May bank holidays could also be spoiled for many hay fever suffers. The longer the exposure to hay fever is left untreated, the more severe the symptoms will become. Call in for your Hay Fever Relief Pack £8.49. For contact information search www.obrienspharmacy.com

In conjunction with NHS England, community pharmacies are supporting the Children's Oral Health Campaign, between 13th May-13th June 2019. Call in and speak to a member of staff for advice about taking care of your children's teeth.
Hay fever Our changing climate means that plants are producing an increased amount of pollen, combined with the longer season, means a particularly challenging time for hay fever sufferers .Over Easter weekend Fylde Coast residents were hit with what national weather forecasters were calling a ’pollen bomb’ making the bank holiday difficult for hay fever sufferers.
The bad news is that the May bank holidays could also be spoiled for many if they don’t prepare and get their ha...y fever treatments in time.
The longer the exposure to hay fever is left untreated, the more severe the symptoms will become. Early treatment, at the very first signs, is important. For contact information search www.obrienspharmacy.com

Mental Health Awareness Week 13-19 May 2019 is examining body image
The Mental Health Foundation found that, last year 30% of all adults have felt so stressed by body image and appearance that they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope. That’s almost 1 in every 3 people.
Body image issues can affect all of us at any age and directly impact our mental health.
... However there is still a lack of much-needed research and understanding around this. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
