OCEANAIR'S PARTNERSHIP WITH THE BRITISH RED CROSS CONTINUES TO GROW...
Dear all,
Please note that our efforts in 2013 helped the British Red Cross directly raise £8,292.68, and that is now £25,119.50 in direct sales from our donations that has all gone to the BRC that would have not gone there, or potentially anywhere in the past.
... 2010 = £526 2011 = £6,985.91 2012 = £9,314.91 2013 = £8,292.68 Total = £25,119.50
I would like to thank all the Oceanair staff for making personal donations, and helping to sell this partnership that we have with the Red Cross to our customers, so that everyone is a winner. Also a huge thanks to the crews who collect these items from the clients on the moving day, and a special thanks to Mark at the Oceanair warehouse for sorting and storing all the Red Cross items and arranging collections from the charity.
All items donated from Oceanair to the Red Cross are giving a specific price tag/bar code so that the BRC can identify exactly how much Oceanair customers and staff are helping to raise. Oceanair take no profit or commission from this system, which forms part of our Corporate and Social Responsibility Policy as well as our Environmental Policy.
Many thanks of course goes to our corporate international customers who donate their unwanted items for free when moving with Oceanair.

As Oceanair staff head out to the IAM Conference in Canada this week, it reminds us of a poem: -
Being a mover – how fast the years have flown Shipments I have dealt with, the agents that I’ve known I started moving people thirty years just gone... Used telex not the email (web site wasn’t on)
Men who did the moving wore aprons on the front Didn’t give them sweat shirts – their caps weren’t back to front The trucks were all from Bedford, no container store, Insurance risks restricted to acts of God and war
Even though my memory of those old days are great When it comes to meeting agents I still just cannot wait To get out and see the people from all around the place Who make up the population within the movers’ race
Though I’ve been shipping people for many a long year It’s not ones age that’s crucial it’s how you feel, that’s clear I might be old in years – I might be an old fart But when it comes to moving people I still feel young at heart!

Just a heads up for anyone with moves to Asia that Chinese New Year holidays will cover a few countries (such as China, HK, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore) in terms of Customs Officials and partner agent offices being closed. On average the main dates will be from the 21st - 28th January 2012 and some shipments may be delayed.
