It’s that time of year again! #hitchinchristmastreefestival 🎄
So now the pressure is on, it’s only our 2nd year exhibiting however we have been supporting the fantastic event at #holysaviourhitchin for many years now with the electrical capability to safely and effectively run this event. 💡🔌 We have made many friendships over the years with the numerous volunteers that all come together to make this possible. It has become an annual family event of ours with extended family a...ll attending the weekend with us to view the many beautiful and intricately designed and displayed Christmas trees from businesses, schools, clubs, charities etc if you haven’t been before you should certainly add it to your calendar! (Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December 12-6pm)
So now back to the drawing board with this years creation. Lots of drawing, bending wires and hoping that the end result is close to the visual in my head!! 🤣

It’s evenings like this when your #nest comes in to its own! Crank up the thermostat so that there’s a warm ambiance awaiting you when you walk in after your busy day!
I’m still after one of these in our own house but it’s the same old story, there’s never the opportunity to do work at your own house! Crazy really we probably have one of the least technology driven households going!! 🙄
Expect we aren’t the only ones though that don’t get to implement the wonderful array of p...roducts or services into our own lives!

Be energy savvi and you could save hundreds for your pocket and help the environment in the process!
Most of us are guilty of leaving appliances on standby, but do we have any idea how much it actually costs when we crank up the heating, or use the tumble dryer twice a day? Here's some helpful hacks to save money.
Washing machines... A-rated machines cost an average of 50p per load - always have a full load, and reduce it to 30 degrees (this uses 40% less energy)
Tumble dryer Each time you want to dry your clothes, it's costing you around 35p - think do you need to use it
Electric heater These tend to cost you 30p an hour! - try radiator foils these can reflect 95% of heat radiating from the rear of the radiator
Technology Leaving these on standby, Even a mobile phone plugged in costs you 3p an hour - turn it off this can cost you an extra £86 per year!
Baths vs Showers Use the shower rather than the bath whenever possible, because it uses considerably less energy!

... For while heating food requires more than 100 times as much power as running the clock, most microwave ovens stand idle—in “standby” mode—more than 99% of the time.
Moves are being made around the world to reduce this unnecessary power consumption, called “standby power”.
