About Osteopathic Centre For Children

We believe that paediatric osteopathy should be a treatment option for all children. We provide treatments, train osteopaths and carry out research

Osteopathic Centre For Children Description

The Osteopathic Centre for Children is the only charity of its type in the world. Our clinic offers an effective, non-invasive, green alternative or complement to traditional medication and drug therapies, helping babies develop into normal strong infants and then through childhood into healthy adults. This can help in reducing the amount of medical support a child will need throughout his or her life, which means a healthier life and reduced costs to the NHS.

Paediatric osteopathy is an effective, non-invasive and non-pharmaceutical treatment for children. At the OCC we offer diagnosis, treatment and – where appropriate – referral to specialists within the NHS. We treat children holistically, and look at the whole child, not just the presenting condition.

We see a wide variety of presenting conditions: behavioural problems such as autistic spectrum disorder, attention deficit disorder and various sleeping problems; conditions of the central nervous system including cerebral palsy and epilepsy; orthopaedic problems including plagiocephaly and torticollis, as well as many other conditions of the respiratory, gastrointestinal and genito-urinary systems.

Fundraising: Gently making things better. www. justgiving.com/osteopathiccfc /donate

We’re assuming that when you plan your regular workout, you don’t plan a workout for your pelvic floor. Don’t worry, we wouldn’t didn’t think so. While not the most fashionable subject, education on how and why you should strengthen your pelvic floor muscles is important. The Food Medic explain why.

You couldn't imagine the difference it could make. Many thanks. Would recommend to anyone.

What a fantastic place! My baby boy has regular treatment for his foot after being born with talipes (clubfoot). The osteos are excellent, kind and caring. I recommend it to everyone who has a baby. So glad such a place exists. Thank you.

User

Very good service. I have brought both of my children to the OCC for various reasons and the treatment has always been extremely successful. I myself have had treatment here and was very pleased with the results. The staff are all very friendly and polite. I would highly recommend to everyone.

User

My two girl absolutely love Osteopathy and argue as to whose turn it is to go first when they arrive. They have been helped with countless things from colds to ear infections to a bad fall my eldest had when she was 14 months old and a fall she had recently last Sunday. The OCC is such a comforting, supportive environment with such lovely staff. I don't know what I would do without them.

User

My nearly 4 year old, who has been going to the OCC for a couple of years now, has just said to me "it was really good, the appointment with Lauren, it helps me to do things like play with Lego better". Says it all really!

Having seen a number of osteopaths since my son was 6 weeks old, none has matched the wealth of experience and dedication of the team at the OCC. Highly recommended.

My name is Imaan and i am 15 years old. I have suffered from severe ear pain and back problems. I have been attending the OCC for many years. The treatment i have been getting is amazing. Every time my treatment is finished I feel considerably better than i was before. The OCC continues to amaze me so much so that i have been inspired to do osteopathy as my future career.

User

My daughter's hip problem was diagnosed by the OCC when it was unnoticed by doctors and physios. My daughter is almost 4 now and is able to walk without tripping over her own feet. I highly recommend using their excellent services!

User

Many years ago I spent 2 years travelling down once a fortnight to work at the OCC. I was so lucky to have had personal supervision by Peter Armitage and Susan Turner. To all those wonderful children who taught me so much to help the next 18 years and counting of kids that osteopathy has a huge power to help children. I loved every second at the OCC working with babies and children and would whole heartedly recommend it to the next generation of osteopaths. Oh and if you are a Mum or Dad and your kid needs help, then you will not find better hands anywhere on this planet.

User

I've taken all three of my children here and can't recommend it enough. Amazing care, amazing outcomes. Please support their work.

User

I would recommend OCC to every mum(to-be), their newborns, toddler, children. Osteopathy helped our daughter avoid flat head syndrome and became a support in teething, her digestive system, her respiratory system and any niggles that occurred during different developmental stages.

User

I love this place! They were so helpful to me when my son had colic. He used to scream every night from 6-9pm and no one knew why. When I saw the OCC it was like they flicked a switch and just stopped it for good. I'm so grateful. They also helped him with teething later, and helped me with my hips and pelvic alignment. Thank you thank you thank you! I recommend you to anyone who will listen

User

I have no words to describe these wonderful team- Just go and trust their work. Even if is it for a general check up- which I did - and it resulted in much more than that for my LO.

User

I came to OCC with my 12 year old son. We had very specific needs to be addressed. Our therapist listened without judgement and was sensitive to our needs. I've had a lot of experience with biodynamic Cranialsacral therapy, and found OCC to be supportive, professional, caring and very effective.

Thank you OCC for the great service you provide and the healing you give!

User

Highly recommend this to everyone - my daughter has GDD and was non verbal, 6 weeks into coming here we noticed significant change to her abilities, we travelled a 5 hour round trip to Wandsworth for months and it was stressful and draining for me but so very very worth it, now at Mill Hill I can access their amazing skills in half the time and our little girl feels and shows just how worthy this treatment is Forever Thankful
