Went here for my birthday meal with friends. The 8 of us had a perfect evening of excellent drink, food and service. Great range of food of the menu for veggie, gf and generally fussy friends. Dealt with my faffing over a dessert without hesitation. And lovely staff joined in some good jokes and fun. We all agreed it was the best evening we could have had in Abingdon, Oxford or beyond.

User

We visited late evening last Sunday and they were so friendly towards us and our Puppy. The whole team made us feel most welcome. Great to see a dog friendly restaurant / cafe / lounge in Abingdon.

The Mezze was delicious.. We will be back for sure and thank you.

User

We have been in several times once during a snowy dog walk in which we were greeted with very friendly staff . On this occassion we just had a lovely hot latte and our dog also enjoyed his bowl of water and treats . And on the second time it was on Monday night for a cheeky Drink and again greeted with a lovely member of staff and had a lovely time . I would highly recommend this place it is so welcoming and with a very descent menu and very good prices . With the bonus it welcomes dogs too !!

User

We called in here after a snowy dog walk for a hot drink and some breakfast, we were told dogs were allowed which was a massive selling point for us as they are not allowed in Costa or some of the other coffee shops in the centre of Abingdon.

The atmosphere inside is really great with old style paintings on the wall, dimmed lighting and soft music which really set the place up well. You don’t get seated you just find a table yourself so don’t wait at the door!

We position ourselves in some comfy chairs in the corner so we could keep our 2 dogs out of the way of other diners which worked really well. The interior is really big with a bar at one end, plenty of chairs and tables but it doesn’t feel squashed in at all.

Our dogs were provided with their own water bowl and a waitress came over to see if we wanted any dog treats for them so this place is super dog friendly which basically sells it to us on its own.

We ordered hot drinks, cake and 2 Lounge Breakfasts. All the food came very quickly the cakes were good quality and the coffee was really good too. Both breakfasts were also really good, hot food, and standard British breakfast and good quality.

The staff were very friendly with us and the dogs and also very welcoming. There are no steps into the establishment so access for pushchairs and wheel chairs should good, there is free Wi-fi if you need to do a bit of business while you’re here and high chairs are available also.

In the evenings the place is open as a bar and I imagine it’s quite lively, there is a wine and cocktail list also, the menu overall looks great including home made drinks and good variety.

There is a separate vegan and gluten free menu available which you need to ask for but it’s great that they cater for different food types!

Based on this experience I would definitely recommend it, especially if you have dogs.

User

I've never been so happy to give somewhere a good review before, Pablo's Lounge is honestly the best and I'd urge anyone to visit! ^_^

The food is great and really reasonably priced, there are vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. I'm lactose intolerant and had plenty to choose from :) I've tried a few of their dishes and loved every single thing - the tapas is especially good if you're indecisive! Drinks are also amazing, including loads of really yummy alcohol free options!

It's not just the food though, the staff are so friendly and helpful, all of you are great. Shawn (diva) deserves a special mention for going above and beyond, I'll try not to embarras you, but we are so thankful for your kindness.

Other things of note are the amazing decor, the book exchange, clean facilities and I think I spotted some games to keep little ones amused. it's my new favourite restaurant

User

I've been to Pablo Lounge three times now at very different times, busy afternoon, weekend and evening, and all of these visits have been nothing short of outstanding.

Friendly staff, a welcoming atmosphere, delicious food (especially for veggies), a clean and quirky interior and speedy service even at peak times are just some of the things I recommend about Pablo Lounge.

I hope you last longer than the (undeniably dull) Wildwood!

User

I go to one of their sister longes The Cultivo Lounge in letchworth.

Im very impressed.

As a vegan their vegan breakfast is amazing so I cannot see why this place would be any different give it a go you will be surprised and the cost is great value.

User

Great place needs more bar staff although the staff that were on Friday night were very good just need more behind the bar. Food was great served quickly and was Delicious. Waiting staff friendly although I personally don't like being interrupted while eating to be asked if food was okay 3 times all different staff members and twice to ask if I have finished when I had food left on the board/plates. But I believe staff are learning how to find there feet. All staff were friendly and professional. Alex (not sure if name correct) I felt went the extra mile made sure we were Comfortable gave a great welcome, recommended dishes and drinks went to kitchen for a special request, and made the experience enjoyable I will definitely be going back.

User

Came in for the first time tonight for our tea we brought our dog Wallace. We were made to feel very welcome and Wallace enjoyed the fuss, they even treated him to biscuits and a drink

The food was delicious and will definitely eat going back

User

First time here on Sunday, good choice on menu.

Very busy, I personally did not think there was enough staff at the bar (only 2 people taking food & dink orders). Seemed to be only 2 people serving the food so empty plates not taken away!

Fab decor very bright and seems a really popular place, will visit again but maybe when it’s not so manic or maybe when there is more staff.

Staff there on Sunday were very bubbly so knocking them, just thought there could have been more people helping out 😉

This is a 3.75 🌟 review, very nearly a 4. Nice menu, fairly priced - decent offering for kids (pesto was probably best thing I tasted, 'slaw was great but megre portion) - laid back but friendly and attentive staff culture. Nice decor and atmosphere. Cookery needs refinement. It is half decent home cooking level currently, need to execute with more skill and attention to detail. Buns need grilling, bacon fat needs rendering, avocados need seasoning, sour dough needs colour if warmed etc - simple stuff. Service was surprisingly quick, especially as was almost full .Would have been happy waiting 10 more mins for food that had me desperate to return. Breakfast Club Oxford is my nearest point of reference and they cook far better than I could at home, not with slightly less attention to detail. I hope this is a fair review and that this brand new franchise can become a shining star in the heart of Abingdon with experience and refinement - the town certainly needs it Hopefully feedback can be taken on board and I genuinely wish the staff there all the best. Thanks for a decent lunch but you won't drag me out of my own kitchen every week until you render your bacon fat!

User

Quirky fun decor and very friendly service here in Abingdon. Pablo has now replaced the former failed Wildwood Kitchen. This place is really pulling the casual diners and coffee congregation. I really liked the atmosphere (even with a few screaming toddlers), it’s a buzzing venue and is really on target for the mixed customer base. The menu covers just about everything you could ask for. We came for brunch (opens at 9AM). We ordered eggs Royale and bacon sandwich in brown bread. Presentation was fine, and service slow. The lovely server explained they were busy. Sadly, the bacon sandwich was stone cold. So cold that the butter was still solid and hadn’t melted into the chilly back bacon. The eggs Royale (muffin, poached eggs and Hollandaise) was also cold. My sandwich hadn’t simply cooled down, it had never been hot! The Royale had clearly been left standing a long way from the heat lamp. When the waitress returned to the table for the quality check, we pointed this out. She quickly took away the eggs and they were remade piping hot. Full marks this time. I soldiered on with my already half eaten sandwich. I think this glitch is just due to being early days in the operational life of Pablo. I hope they get over this lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. This sorted and we'll be back, and back, and back. PS: We’ve never ever had cold food at ‘Spoons around the corner.

User

It's un clear that you have to seat yourself and no one to greet you . I waited 4mins b4 anyone greeted me at the bar ( it dose say on the menu ordered at bar ) all though the man with red hair was very friendly though out . The cocktail I ordered they did not have ( which how can you not have a whole cocktail? :/ unless there not made ? On site )

Waited a long time for food 35mins +

And was not that busy . Someone that ordered after us got there food 1st . We had food missing when I asked she looked confused and said oooh I'll go check and came and told us its on its way down but the server should of know this . If your sending food down they need to know how much food is going to which table .

We received 2 check backs but at no point at all were we offerd anything else food or drink not even a dessert.

I epersheate that it's new and people have to learn but have some people that know what there doing and keeping a closer eye on the trainees.

Would I go back?? Huuum I'd rather go to other places 1st .

User

I can't wait to go again so I can give it the 5* it deserves.

The decor is crazy and deserves to be, it's a great talking point.

The staff are super friendly but could use the extra experience as some weren't aware of how to do some areas of their roles yet.

However, the main point of the story is food.... Or for me, lack of. Monday night, quiz night (staff unaware and then cancelled) but an almost 2hr wait for a dessert is a hard pill to swallow.

The mains were outstanding! Pork belly, hallumi and pulled chicken tapas. All really good, however ordered drinks and was told they'd be brought over, but half an hour later I realised that they hadn't. No problem, pop up to the bar and asked and they were happily given out with an apology.

Food came, lots of staff asked if everything was OK and then conversation flowed again against the background music.

Ordered dessert, waited, waited some more, got bored of waiting and asked about it to be told there was a 45 minute delay on food but mine was waiting to be served. Waited some more still and then cancelled the dessert and was refunded and had my drink refunded too, very kindly.

Again, lack of staff is not a good start but the staff were courteous and apologetic and I didn't mind waiting until it was too late and we were leaving.

Can't wait to return soon and really hope to see an improvement because I loved the Southampton branch and want our Abingdon branch to be even better!

User

Have had a couple of great visits. The food is very nice, the tapas especially. There was a breakdown in communication either at ordering or in the kitchen and a couple of requests were ignored so just best to order a dish and not request any additions so your not dissapointed.

Slightly irritated that we weren’t able to book a table a couple of weeks ago yet was moved from a reserved table on Friday evening!! Please confirm your policy!!

It’s not perfect but overall though it’s a good addition to the town, the atmosphere is great and the staff are friendly and helpful.

User

First breakfast at Pablo Lounge this morning. Sat outside in the sun. Customer service was brilliant. The young lad ( with short dark hair)who served us was really polite & attentive. Just a shame the cooked breakfast let you down. The only items on the plate that were hot were the hash browns. Everything else was tepid and they forgot to put tomato’s on the plate. Will certainly go back in the evening for drinks - but will give breakfast a miss.

User

Service is horrendous, currently stood at the bar waiting to pay my bill whilst 3 members of staff are behind the bar making drinks, flat out ignoring myself and other customers. Foods mediocre and the chef can’t fry an egg.

User

We had one of the worst nights of service I’ve ever encountered. Firstly we got seated and waited half an hour before anyone told us to order at the bar. One burger then turned up before any of the starters. They then didn’t take that burger away and bought our starters out another 20mins later. We asked to speak to the manager and they refused to speak to us and proceeded to send over less senior staff which wasn’t fair on them. They didn’t offer us anything as a condolence and told us it was our fault for ordering separately even though it was all to the same table. We did have a lovely young waitress who was very apologetic. I wouldn’t recommend this place as you can get similar quality food at Weatherspoons with better service.

User

If it was possible to give zero stars I would of... service was ok but when I got my ‘superhero’ burger it was a complete joke, the 3oz burger was so small that I’ve seen my rabbit deposit things bigger.. made a complaint and received a refund and offered a new burger but didn’t want to wait for it as my family had nearly eaten theirs.. offered no apology from the manager as she was at the shops purchasing mayonnaise, and to top of an awful dining experience the bar staff reached around the back of my daughter to unplug her phone charger and phone whilst she was eating.. so all in all customer service skills not great, food not great will not be eating here again and will advise family and friends to avoid it like the plague...
