ELIGIBILITY: Olympic loophole tightens.
Pacific Rugby has suffered another setback with recent changes to the loophole that allowed players Nafi Tuitavake, Cooper Vuna & Tim Nanai-Williams to qualify for Tonga & Samoa
The rule that enables test players to switch allegiances after a 3 year international stand-down period is becoming more difficult as an option for players wishing to represent a second country of hertitage.
... ‚ě°ÔłŹplayers must now play 5 Olympic qualifying tournaments to switch
‚ě°ÔłŹincreasingly hard for overseas contracted players to utilise with lengthening domestic club seasons
As an organisation, PRPW are committed to pushing for fairer eligibility laws for Pacific teams and players.

Having spent time recently with the British Army Rugby team- 95% who are Fijian- it was great to see three members, Ratu Siva Naulago, Miteli Vulikijapani & coach Isoa Damudamu step up and help Saracens win the U.K. Premiership 7s tournament this weekend!
With the British military becoming a well recognised and established pathway to professional rugby here in Europe, we are blessed to be working alongside the Army, Navy and Airforce teams, supporting Pacific Islanders who h...ave ambitions to further their rugby careers alongside their military commitments.

Congratulations Tonga International prop Soane Tonga'uiha on the recent launch of Tonga'uiha Rugby Academy in the UK
It’s always great to see players investing and being pro-active around developing post-rugby skills and careers, using their reputations and profile from the game as a platform.
