Parent Support Group

Parent Support Group is an independent charity, working with the parents and carers of young people to listen, offer support, and to provide information and advice.

Parenting can be extremely rewarding but can also have its challenges. When children reach adolescence these challenges can become difficult and parenting skills tested.

At PSG we offer confidential counselling sessions with supervised, trained counsellors and support workers.

We run weekly drop-in sessions for parents and carers to meet in a relaxed environment with others facing similar challenges.

We run a six week course – “Living with Challenging Behaviour” – which provides a safe and fun learning experience for parents and carers wishing to develop their parenting skills, and gives the opportunity to meet in a relaxed environment with others facing challenges. The course focuses on positive communication, active listening, setting boundaries and adopting coping strategies.
