Double, Double Toil and Trouble Taken from a scene in Macbeth in which three witches are chanting: Double, double toil and trouble fire burn and cauldron bubble So at Parkmum this Saturday the goal for each team is to collect the most points. In each round, they will get ‘double’ of something: either double points or double exercises.... The order of play is: 1-Toss, 2-Collect, & 3-Exercise. Regents Park, Meeting point: Hub café bottom of the toilet entrance tunnel Time: Saturday 8:30am It is £10 per session or £85 for 10 classes or £45 for 5 classes. Cash only. Becky

Killer Count Down Workout. Using the first set of exercises as an example: this is a 4-cone workout which we build on at each station to complete a circuit. How many circuits can we fit into 60 minutes?
Starting at cone 1: Sprint/run/speed walk to cone 4 – 20 Band Rows... Sprint/run/speed walk back to cone 1 – 20 Band Rows Sprint/run/speed walk to cone 3 – 15 Band Rows Sprint/run/speed walk back to cone 1 – 15 Band Rows Sprint/run/speed walk to cone 2 – 10 Band Rows Sprint/run/speed walk back to cone 1 – 10 Band Rows

Roll with the Punches Life can get frustrating at times and it’s not good for you to keep that anger and frustration built up inside. That’s why boxing is so great! You can take out your frustrations and get fit at the same time! Boxing will make your heart rate skyrocket and cause you to engage multiple muscle groups, whilst burning calories in a manner very few other activities can rival, so this week at Parkmum we are getting our boxing gloves on and rolling with the punch...es.

4 & More. How It workout Works This is a 4-station workout, which is added upon each round. 1 round = 4 stations. On the first round, complete exercise number 1 on the card and then rotate to the next station where you will do exercise 1 on that card, each station has a different exercise. Jog/walk between stations.... On the second round, do exercise 1 and 2 and so on until we reach 4. Easy!

As many ROUNDS as possible (AMRAP) To do an AMRAP, you set a timer for a certain amount of time and pick a set of exercises. Repeat that sequence for as many rounds as possible until that time expires, resting when needed. The primary reason I love AMRAP workouts is that they allow everyone to do the same workout but at their own pace. It is also a great way to see progression as we can repeat the same workout in a couple of weeks to see if we can better our AMRAP score.

So I did not quite manage to make my 45 minute target but super happy with 47.25, which is still my personal best for a 10k. Now I just need to find another 10k race to achieve my goal.Third time lucky I hope.

Your Body is all you Need Getting fit doesn't have to be complicated. Simple body weight exercises can be a great choice for achieving gains in strength, flexibility, and overall health. There is a misconception that body-weight exercises are less effective for building strength than loaded ones.
Bodyweight exercises are strength training exercises that do not require free weights or equipment; the individual's own weight provides the resistance for the movement. This week a...t Parkmum your body is all you need.

Hiit it or Quit it Agility Ladder Drills
Agility ladder training is a common drill used by many different strength and conditioning coaches to improve foot speed, as well as overall conditioning. Though it was initially used by elite athletes, it has gradually become part of the general training program for general fitness. Agility ladder exercises are excellent for being used in short-explosive intervals, challenging your body and improving your coordination. Agility ladder...s are also highly recommended for weight loss since they are low impact for your joints and tendons. Although they involve fast movements, the range of motion is small and there are no stress-inducing forces created with the ground like other higher impact jumping exercises. The Magic 5
How It Works Have 5 upper body or 5 lower body exercises on a board so that everyone can see. Place 6 cones out. Then to Start, participants will complete all exercises in order for a set number of reps then go for a run. For example:... Round 1: 30 repetitions of each exercise then run to the first cone and back. Round 2: 25 repetitions of each exercise then run to the second cone and back. Round 3: 20 repetitions of each exercise then run to the third cone and back. You continue going down each round by 5 repetitions until they reach 5 repetitions in each exercise. The Magic 5 workout. Pyramid Workout: It is wise to spend time trying to build a foundation for physical fitness gradually over time. To build a foundation, a good start is through a pyramid workout that is tailored to the ability of the person doing it through increasing or decreasing the intensity. The way pyramid training works is by starting off at a low intensity (the base) and climbing one more step (adding intensity) sequentially until you reach the top – then you descend back down the p...yramid - it’s a great way of pushing your bodies. Since you are only able to reach a certain point of each pyramid, it is a perfect fit for setting your own goals and monitoring improvement.

Box on the Run Boxing is one of those fitness trends that’s almost always in the periphery – never completely fading out of sight, but never taking the world by storm like Zumba. But not at Parkmum. Boxing as a sport requires a high level of athletic prowess: strength, speed, agility, hand-eye coordination, endurance, nerve, and power, just to name several required attributes. Boxing as a fitness activity enables the average person to hone those same athletic skills, all with...out having to take an actual punch.
