About Pathfinder Tours (2006) Ltd

Pathfinder Railtours We specialise in providing rail excursions to interesting destinations using diesel and steam locomotives and heritage carriages.

Pathfinder Tours (2006) Ltd Description

Pathfinder Tours - Railtrips to here. . . there. . . and everywhere! We specialise in providing really enjoyable rail excursions to interesting destinations using heritage carriages.

Pathfinder Tours have been organising train excursions for nearly 40 years. Pathfinder is a trusted name in rail excursions and we pride ourselves on being one of the nation's leading excursion train operators. We organise around 50 rail excursions every year along both famous and less well known routes to a wide variety of interesting destinations. Some of their trains are made up of heritage carriages hauled by steam locomotives evoking bygone eras. Others are hauled by classic diesel engines arousing the interests of train buffs.

Our train trips offer seating in a choice of Standard Class, First Class or First Class Plus (the latter includes light refreshments) and Premier Dining - with Silver Service of Full English Breakfast, Elevenses on the outward journey and a four course Dinner with a quarter bottle of wine on the homeward trip.

We aim to ensure you enjoy your train trip.

9 February BLUE BOYS LOCO FEST Joining Stations: Newport, Bristol Parkway, Cheltenham Spa, Bromsgrove, Birmingham New Street, Burton-on-Trent, Derby, Crewe
**First Class seats only remain** £159 pp
... Last February’s ‘Blue Boys Ribble Rouser’ railtour went down a storm with many modern traction enthusiasts and we have been requested many times to run another. Well, here it is, courtesy once again of Direct Rail Services.
Most of the company’s loco classes are featured during the course of the circular itinerary after the core Newport to Birmingham pick ups, allowing the sound of Caterpillar, English Electric and General Motors engines to be appreciated. We have also included a run out of Blackpool North over the newly electrified route to Preston behind a class 88 electro-diesel.

have been on some great tours, with this company, first class service....

User

great trip on the Carlisle and Settle line last weekend. A perfectly organised trip with all stops on time and great staff. thanks :)

User

We had a wonderful day from Yatton to Kingsweir and ferry to Dartmouth. I have mobility problems and was gratified that help was given at every relevant part of the journey by friendly staff. I urge you to try a Pathfinder train day out if you like Railways trips. Pathfinder staff were on Yatton station platform and help from there onwards. Well done guys and girls. Access Is possible for wheelchairs and small scooters.

User

Tynes tees streak greatcday out on iconic bittern 97 mph on return leg. Thanks to everyone that made it happen

User

Really rated the Hull and Leeds Executive! Can't wait for our next Pathfinder railtour.

User

It's a great company to go on a tour with with friendly and helpful staff

User

Interesting tours, nice staff and rather good food (especially important as I am a rather ravenous jewish person...). I just wish a few morePathfinder Tours went from London.

User

Highly recommended, thank you to all the Pathfinder team and the Frying Scotsman team for making our trip in premier dining during the Yuletide East Yorkshireman a fantastic experience.

Will definitely be booking future tours.

User

Had an exceptional day on the Hull and Leeds Executive 06/05/17. The on board staff were friendly, and the fact that they allowed us to stand at vestibule windows so we could hear the Deltic made the day perfect.

User

Great Staff, Great tours!

User

Brilliant trip today to Weymouth, mahoosive thanks to all crew and staff, fantastic food and service !

See you again

User

Another excellent tour with Pathfinders, nothing is to much trouble, would love to do the Cambrian in October but it's going through Cam and Dursley not Abergavenny but there's always next time, Peter and teams many thanks

User

Always great days out, very helpful and friendly staff !

User

Still not having tours from Shrewsbury. Used to go on all of them when picking up here. MISSING THEM

User

Went on the Mazy Day trip hours late arriving for the festival, premier dining appalling and after complaining to Pathfinders issues not addressed. Don't bother not worth the money

User

Usually excellent but this trip, (to Swanage), totally ruined by the sub tropical temperature and humidity onboard. Maintenance on the type 3 coaches had obviously been neglected and our coach (J) was almost unbearable. My advice, check if type 1 or 2 before booking!
