If you look very closely you’ll see the future of Picks. The Barrow lake spawning has been incredibly successful and the lake is littered with thousands of eyelash length carp fry. As a newly refurbished lake, this will be one of our best opportunities to achieve natural recruitment. With a bit of good luck they’ll survive their first winter - fingers crossed!

Closing for spawning is always a great opportunity for late Spring maintenance. We’ve been busy cropping lillies from the Float Pond for planting on the Barrow Lake. We’ve also started pumping the Doughnut into the Float pond in preparation for its opening. @ Picks Cottage Fishery Ltd
