Would highly recommend to anyone as a place to wind down, relax whilst in London for business or pleasure, with the family or on your own or to spend the day working with excellent WI-FI

User

I love this cinema...hands down the best in London! Lovely members bar to have a drink after the movie, the most comfortable seats, all kinds of movies...not just new releases and best of all the occasionally dog friendly screening!!!

User

Great films. Great venue in central London. Fantastic and reasonably price food. Members bar rooftop terrace is a highlight before the film. I enjoyed Sundance Festival and saw two films. Yardie with Q&A was memorable. 5*

User

Best cinema in London - or central london at least. Comfy seats (esp on Screens 1 and 2 - they recline!), amazing sound system and patrons who respect others (ie they don’t talk to their friends all the way through a film or decide to check their phone every 10 minutes). Add to this a cool bar/restaurant and a lovely members only bar and you have a great destination for a night out.

User

a very good cinema in general. Screen 1 is a very respectable size. my only criticisms would be that the seats could be wider and the film was a little too loud. far louder than Curzons, Everymans, Odeons and Vues (with whom i see most films)

User

Went to the very excellent Dark River with Q&A. Cinematography excellent, music excellent, general acting excellent, both stars excellent. Q&A - not so good... really, really needed amplification - was so quiet the only clear person was the actress Ruth Wilson, who knew how to project...

Please address this for next time.

If you are a member make sure you go upstairs to buy discounted tickets as the downstairs machines do not allow this option . Staff are well aware of this yet there are no signs informing members of this . Shocked .

I visited for the first time in May and saw the 70mm "non-restored" 2001: A Space Odyssey. I was very satisfied by the whole experience. But now I see that the workers are striking demanding decent pay :( I will adjust my rating to 5 stars as soon as the cinema reaches a fair deal with it's workers and I will be back on my next visit to London. If they have to raise prices, I will gladly pay a bit more as this was an excellent cinema.

User

doesn't pay its staff the living wage, full of union busters who'd rather sack and intimidate union members than give them a workplace with dignity.

User

Very disappointed to learn that Picturehouse don't pay their staff a living wage, while Cineworld, which owns Picturehouse, makes £93 mil a year. Won't be going back to Picturehouse until they start to treat their workers better.

User

Treats its staff like crap. Boycott Picturehouse until they pay the London Living Wage, recognise the workers' union BECTU and reinstate the four sacked reps.

User

Staff at Picturehouse Central have been striking for a Living Wage, decent sick pay, company maternity/paternity pay, and for their chosen union to be recognised. They're joined by workers from four other cinemas in the chain. Picturehouse not only refuse to negotiate, they sack union reps and threaten to sack all workers that strike. All the while being part of the second largest cinema chain in the world. The workers and their union have called for a consumer boycott of Picturehouse. I hope others support the strike and join the boycott until Picturehouse give in to the workers' demands.

User

Poor service, often screenings are disturbed, unfriendly managers and on top of that don't pay their staff properly! Disgraceful cinema, would NOT recommend.

User

Members of cinema workers’ union, Bectu, have been engaged with Picturehouse management for two years in a dispute over pay and union recognition. Striking workers say Picturehouse refuses to negotiate over issues such as sick and parental pay, and the London living wage (currently £10.20). - The Guardian

User

Love this cinema but so sickening that they won’t pay their staff a decent living wage. Went yesterday and there was a protest outside when we came out - wouldn’t have gone in if we’d known. Cineworld owns it, so not like it’s some struggling indie...

User

Looks good, but apparently my small hand luggage case precluded us going into the cinema. Apparently this large, modern cinema doesn't have a cloakroom, and refuses to cater to travellers, despite being in central London. As a result, my one window to see the last jedi with my family closed. Bah humbug picturehouse. Won't be hanging my festive hat on your in the future. Get a cloakroom like every other central London entertainment venue.

User

I hear you don't pay the living way to your staff... Not cool, not cool.

I like going to cinemas where the workers are being paid enough to live on sorry. :(

User

Have CANCELLED my membership and encourage others to. A nasty, vindictive employer who bullies their employees and refuses to pay the living wage despite making over £100m in profits last year.

Wont be visiting again until they start treating their excellent staff with the dignity and respect they deserve by paying them properly and reinstating the union reps they've sacked.

User

Cinema has all the bravado on the outside. In one of the screens some of the seats sit behind the back-speaker which means you don't get the effects of surround-sound. The speakers also reverberate with the ceiling tiles.

Seats are comfortable but due to the above really not a great place to watch a film.

I brought this up with customer services who were very unhelpful.
