Every week in the UK, 12 apparently fit and healthy young people aged 35 and under die from undiagnosed cardiac conditions. There is a misconception that heart disease can affect only older people. In fact, fatty deposits start clogging our arteries much earlier than most of us realise. By the time we are in our 30s, we will all have some thickening in the walls of our arteries. This silently builds up over time, reducing the flow of blood to our major organs.... What causes heart disease?
There are many diverse risk factors. These include being overweight, having high blood pressure, smoking and having high cholesterol. Diabetes can increase the risk dramatically even if you do not need insulin. People known to have heart disease will have an increased risk of sudden cardiac death but it can happen to people who have never been diagnosed. This is why the Government are keen for us to know our heart age and discuss risk factors with a... GP. The more we know the more we can do about it. Supporting World Mental Health Day 2018
Imagine growing up in our world today. Constantly battling the effects of human rights violations, wars and violence in the home, schools and businesses. Young people are spending most of their day on the internet – experiencing cyber crimes, cyber bullying, and playing violent video games. Suicide and substance abuse numbers have been steadily rising, LGBTQ youth are feeling alone and persecuted for being true to themselves and young a...dults are at the age when serious mental illnesses can occur and yet they are taught little to nothing about mental illness and wellbeing.
The World Federation for Mental Health is focusing the 2018 WMHDAY campaign on Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World. We want to bring attention to the issues our youth and young adults are facing in our world today and begin the conversation around what they need in order to grow up healthy, happy and resilient.
Lets all use this year to emphasize the needs of our young people. Its time to take a stand and demand more for this vulnerable population – our future depends on it! #worldmentalhealthday

We are group members via our company Big Brand Ideas. We fell in love with the Pinches team and their vision having met Ian Pinches at a business club event. After signing our company up to their corporate scheme we then started working with Pinches to help spread the word about their great service. As a member of Pinches I have found their support invaluable. As a busy professional it’s hard to get appointments with NHS GPs at a time to suit as they are so over subscribed. Via Pinches, I am able to see my assigned GP (who is wonderful) from 8am to 8pm at night at a time that suits me. I feel like my doctor really knows me and has taken time to understand me, I now have a fantastic wellbeing plan that’s been designed together by my GP and nutritionist so I can be the best me that I can be during a very busy work schedule. I couldn’t recommend the Pinches team highly enough.
