"Our voices are rarely heard so I really wanted this piece to be an opportunity to allow voices from Northern Ireland, at a time when people were talking more at us, and about us.
Wake the Beast's Adam McGuigan and Aislinn Harley Baxter talk to Kathy Clugston on her new arts show The Ticket on BBC Radio Ulster about new play 'The Biggest Show In The Country', coming here Saturday night!

Delighted to welcome GCSE and A level drama students from Limavady High School to our building this week!
The students took a backstage tour of The Playhouse, followed by a workshop with Playhouse Director and Producer Kieran Griffiths to learn about our creative processes, and got the chance to view a scene from our musical in development, Chicago! Thanks to everyone who came along, it was a pleasure hosting you all!

“This is in the ethos and context of the Theatre of Witness tradition, well known to the people of the city, in which a theatre professional works at the shoulder of people carrying their own stories to an audience.”
We're delighted that Poet and Playwright Damian Gorman has begun his Peacebuilding Residency with us.
Damian will work with people around their experiences of 1972, the worst year of the ‘Troubles’, and his residency will finish with a free performance in The Pl...ayhouse, which will run from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 April 2020.
There's still time for people to get involved, and Damian and The Playhouse want to extend the invitation as widely as possible.
Damian will be inviting people to drop in to The Playhouse for an informal chat this Saturday morning (November 9) from 10am.
Anyone interested can also arrange a meeting at another time by contacting project co-ordinator Elaine Forde on elaine@derryplayhouse.co.uk.

Another lovely sample from the new studio album by Dundalk musician Emer Kenny. This track, with Stephen Travers, is from the album Ghosts, and is presented by The Playhouse Theatre & Peacebuilding Academy in a unique endeavour centred on the composition and interpretation of music and songs driven and inspired by first-hand accounts of specific events and tragedies connected to the conflict in Northern Ireland and the Border Counties. Live launch in Spirit Store, George's Quay, Dundalk on Thursday November 14 at 7.30pm.

In memory. This date every year is always a difficult one for Playhouse staff, friends and family of Lenny Nelson, who tragically died in a road accident on this day in 2014.
We will always consider ourselves humbled to have known such a creative bright spark, a man who generously and quietly shared his talent, joy and fun with everyone around him. We continue to remember and celebrate him, and think of his wife MÃĄire, family and friends.
We all miss him very much. RIP Lenny

This film, Connected = Disconnected by Raphoe, is best viewed with VR Headset, and is one of four short films released online as part of our cross community project, Street Talk.
