About Pop Brixton

A pioneering new space to support local start-ups, creative and community organisations in

Pop Brixton Description

Pop Brixton is a temporary project that has turned disused land into a creative space for local, independent businesses. Come and discover South London’s most exciting start-ups working in food, retail, design and social enterprise.

Pop Brixton exists to support local jobs, training and enterprise. It is a community initiative that has transformed a disused plot of land into a pioneering space that showcases the most exciting independent businesses from Brixton and Lambeth, providing a new destination that supports them to set up shop and share space, skills and ideas.

As well as providing the space local businesses need to thrive, we work with our members to make a positive difference in the community. We all invest our time and skills into charitable projects, we provide free space for community events of every kind, and we host regular open workshops ranging from kid's art classes to horticulture training in our community garden.

This is a temporary project, delivered in partnership with Lambeth Council, and is currently planned to remain in place until Autumn 2018.

great place with awesome vibe, so much to choose from and easy to flit from place to place, so diverse!

Yesterday I went to visit a great community/council based project in Brixton- Pop Brixton. The project offers space for the community to do events, local traders selling amazing food and products, a community fridge space to share surplus food for those more in need, a community garden and lots more. It really reminded me of why I got into public service and what can be achieved. Completely inspiring, absolutely loved it

User

The space seemed hectic but there was space for everyone. Small queues for the Pimms. Great food. Had a mini Carnival time at No Long Ting all dayer @Bunny Bread doin it. @Cyndi perfect organisation.

User

Stumbled upon this place by accident and have since learned of its purpose. Really great place, loads of atmosphere, fab food and drinks. Has a great vibe. Will definitely return next time I visit London.

User

Really laid back, good food, cool place to go with friends for drinks.

User

One of my fave hangs in Brixton. Love that every weekend hosts something new and fun... often with a fab cause/message. I always bring friends from out of town here as the food, vibe and peeps are all delicious!

User

Love the place . Good vibe and good food with very reasonable price . Catch up for lunch or early drink before night out with friend :) x

User

Love that it's free to get in, lots of food options, great music, good diverse crowd. Something for everyone. Pretty perfect!

I looked for somewhere different to go for food and a drink before the Pixies gig on 28th November. This looked just the ticket. We found it easily and we loved it. I've read some other reviews slating it but the idea behind it is sound, the atmosphere is friendly and it gives folk like me from outside London opportunity to meet local people and eat and drink locally sourced produce. All the different music's mixed together in the unusual location make it lots of fun. It was really cold when we visited so wrap up! But definitely pay a visit 😊

User

Fab place! Can’t wait to go back. It’s great that the community seem to be supporting the venture as well :)

User

Delicious food, wonderful space, delightful place to sit and relax, talk and eat with friends, love it. Made god use of the derelict car park.

User

Amazing selection of food and drink , really cool place to hang out

User

Amazing food, really friendly people working there and a great atmosphere. Lovely for kids during the day and getting them to try different foods under one roof. Top place for reasonable nights out too. Best of all - it's local and now has a roof for winter!

User

great location and set up, really fun vibe and friendly staff/bouncers :) Nice variety of found and drinks.

Only negatives are the lack of seating and heating for a long stay. It's not the cosiest location. Also, the toilets are pretty grim considering drinks are around £9! There was no toilet roll and the locks didn't work on 2 cubicles.

Hope the venue is brightened up for new years eve! :)

User

Last Saturday night it was freezing, just one heater was on most of the time. That is, probabily, the reason why it was quite empty compared with any other weekend. This is just a constructive complaint for the benefit of all user of the best place in Brixton! Regards.

User

Cold & draft. Food ok though. I had pizza down stairs

User

Last Saturday very badly treated by security people at the door getting a very violent response when trying to smoke outside, They think they talk to animals without having any kind of respect.

User

Since when did a watery cocktail served in a small plastic cup cost 9 quid.... Shameful money making rip off joint coated a weak veneer of cool pretending to be all genuine and creative

User

Shit hole spewing out drunk entitled twats who shout and piss all over our neighbourhood at 2am. Funny, I thought it was originally meant to be a space for the locals. Someone needs to tell your punters that people LIVE IN BRIXTON.
