These three stunning Hibiscus look picture perfect on display in our plant area. Hibiskiss Rose Moon is a real show stopper smothered in huge 18cm wide blooms. Hibiscus Syiacus Hamabo & Hibiscus Syriacus Woodbridge have smaller flowers, but are equally beautiful. https://www.poplarnurseries.co.uk/plants/ shrubs/

Wonderful place. We went yesterday and had lunch in the restaurant which now has a separate vegan menu It was superb. Lovely staff and a garden centre to rival Perrywoods!!!!

User

What a Fantastic place to get what you need, and as for the restaurant, the food is out of this world. As for the couple in thier 50s going round on the train! We loved it.

We’ve taken our children here to see Santa the past 3 years and I would never take them any where else now. My children absolutely love your Santa they always leave giggling and happy. The best Santa we’ve seen. Also the walk way into seeing Santa is very magical, the elves are polite and friendly. The queue wasn’t long either so the little ones didn’t get bored or create a fuss.

We try and go somewhere different one day a week and just thought we would try this nursery. We were extremely surprised and delighted at the choice, there was so much to see. The displays were amazing and we ended up buying a couple of things for the garden. The restaurant was roomy, very clean and the food hot delicious and a varied choice. As pensioners, we found the prices very reasonable too. Any staff we came across were extremely polite and helpful. Will certainly be making a return visit in the near future

We had our first visit to Poplar Nurseries last week for the breakfast with Santa event. I'd just like to thank everyone involved with the breakfast with Santa this morning, my son Oliver and I had the most awesome, magical and fun time...even if he did tell the hairdresser afterwards mummy forgot to give him breakfast but Santa saved the day!

Everything from the food to the story, songs and overall organisation was just faultless! The addition of the little train ride was brilliant too! The nursery itself is full of delights...gifts for every ocassion and all. There's homewares and of course everything you need for your garden and more.

It was out 1st time to one of your events and we are sure to be back again for more of your fab events throughout 2018 #dinewithsanta

We had breakfast with Santa on 21st December and it was a truly magical way to get Christmas started. It was so well organised, food was delicious, staff were so friendly and really added to the experience. The children loved Santa and their presents. The cookies, story time and singing were great added extras that we weren't expecting. We have been to similar things at other places but none were quite as well run or special as Poplar. We can't wait to book again and would now if we could! Our 6 year old says she gives it 100 out of 100! #DineWithSanta

We ALWAYS spend too much here 😁. They have such a fantastic selection of plants, pots, ornaments to choose from and always someone on hand to advise you. Then, after exhausting the money pockets, go and have a cake, lunch, or just a drink in their restaurant. You won’t be disappointed. Oh! And my grandson LOVES the train ride 🚂 .

User

Really nice here. Came at Christmas time n again yesterday for the nature trail with my two children and they loved doing this and finding all the clues n getting a prize at the end.

Also brought a few things as well. X

I brought my 2 year old daughter to have breakfast with Santa. After the warmest welcome and most delicious breakfast we met santa, had a story and a sing song then decided to visit him in his grotto. Every single staff member had such great energy my daughter who was sooo nervous when she entered the grotto ended up chatting with Father Christmas. It wasn't rushed or fake and it made such a massive difference to how comfortable she felt that we ended up having a photo with the man himself. So thankyou to every staff member for your hardwork it has made our Christmas

User

Had a wonderful few hours here with my friend and her son. He loved the railway and we loved the farm shop. The food in the restaurant was fabulous especially the gluten free coffee cake. We will definitely return.

User

Best afternoon tea I've had in ages!

The service was good, drinks just kept on coming and we were never hurried.

Will be back soon!!

Yesterday was only the second time I have been here; and I loved it even more than the first time. So beautiful to just wander around the outside and enjoy all the quirky objects along the railway route (sadly the train was not running yesterday); had two fabulous snacks, one before shopping and one after, rather than one main lunch. Did not find any of the 6 plants on my list, but got one very similar. Was a tad confused with the plant area because they are not in alphabetical order and I had to ask staff for assistance (which I have to say was readily and amicably given by everyone on site, not just the plant area). I also spent in the produce shop and the gift shop, buying for myself. Was slightly tempted to start buying for Christmas because I saw so many wonderful items! I will be back.

User

First visit in 30 years of driving past good choice of goods nice food and well looked after plants

User

We have visited Father Christmas every year, & have loved the experience, although this years visit was a disappointment. No queuing after school on Wednesday, but it was decided that Father Christmas would come out into the display area rather than his normal grotto area & see all the children collected in that area. There was quiet a few of us & at least 4 different groups of people that didn’t know each other. It was all very difficult to navigate & take photos to show the children later on. Also as the children were opening there gifts others hadn’t received them yet, & then they were comparing gifts which quiet frankly went down like a lead balloon. Try explaining to a 4 year old why he has a ‘baby train set’ & others have gyroscopes! The gifts were a mix of utter toot & great! We all took away our lovely baby Xmas trees which was the only bonus!

User

Shop and nursery was fine, lots of choice, the quiche was very rubbery and no butter with new potatoes so meal was awful

User

Finally got round to visiting the cafe today but was quite disappointed. My husband and I ordered a lasagna. The food was plentiful but I’ve never had to crunch my way through pasta before! It was tasty but very over cooked....or reheated multiple times.

We also shared a bowl of chips....the bowl had clearly been used for broccoli before the chips as there were still bits of it in the bottom of the bowl.

If I bother to come back it’s not something I would order again.

Update: the manager has contacted me and offered us a voucher to cover two meals.....great customer service...... Thanks we will be back and hopefully we will have a better experience

User

Father’s Day, popped to Popular Nursery to spend a couple of hours while our son was at rehearsals. With over an hour to go went for a tea/coffee. Cafe VV busy: 20 mins for drink/cake, 1hr for hot food. That’s okay, plenty of time.

45 minutes later, still no tea/coffee, had to leave to pick up our son for 1pm.

User

Sad to hear about the treatment of a young breastfeeding mum today in your cafe. By law women are allowed to breastfeed anywhere and your lack of support by telling her there was "nowhere she could feed" is abysmal. I recommend your staff are properly trained in how to deal with such situations in the future so other mothers are not caused such upset.
