Popolo Shoreditch offers inspired seasonal cooking with regional routes throughout Italy and also taking Moorish influences from Spain, We deliver a casual dinning experience at a bar around the kitchen or at tables upstairs. We are based in a refurbished grade 2 listed building in the middle of Shoreditch, at 26 Rivington Street EC2A 3DU

We popped into Popolo on Tuesday evening after reading the reviews - the food was amazing , the service too draw ... beetroot , ravioli , aubergine, chocolate cake , panacota .. don't be fooled by the small portions it is a tapas bar - 3 courses is enough which you should share .. don't miss this place my daughter and myself will return again and again .. I worked in Rome for a year and this is as good or better than anything I had ... thanks Popolo

So enjoyed a delicious lunch here on Saturday, beautiful food, charming service and delicious wine. Very selfish of the team to take two days off in a row, will be back again tomorrow. X

Popolo is a must as a dining experience in London. The cuisine sashays its way through the Mediterranean by way of Italy but there is so much more going on. It's modern, inventive and clever. Great flavours and textures abound in a harmonious menu that holds some wonderful surprises like the grouse cappelletti and a risotto of red wine, radicchio & chestnuts. And it works for the children too. Our two younger fickle eaters polished off the gnudi, baccalĂ  (salt cod tempura) and grilled bavette steak with gusto. Later there were calls for more of the beautiful flourless chocolate cake. Our only regret is that time and modesty prevented us from trying everything on the menu!

Our favourite restaurant in shoreditch. Sit at the bar and watch the beautiful small plates of heaven unfold before you. We have never had a bad experience there and the food delivers every time. Not to mention the lovely staff running the show.... From fresh pasta made daily to, red mullet, lamb, pardon peppers and more! Everyone needs to go!

Just wonderful. So good I'm quite tempted to keep it from Londoners in general, but it'd be unfair.

Great setting, downstairs L shaped bar/ diner facing the kitchen - gosh they work hard - had lush chickpea, fried olive and strained yoghurt starter which was light, spiced and fresh, some gorgeous crevettes dressed in a light chilli sauce, red cauliflower and the most blissful hare pasta to follow. Flour free choc gateau punchy and just - smooth. Service engaged and just the right distance, wine healthily priced, short list, forget what we had I was so happy to be there.

Can't wait to go back!

Delicious, easy to share and they're more than happy to recommend a matching glass of wine to go with the dishes. Leave room for a dessert!

I've been dying to try out this place and finally my husband and I went there last night for an anniversary treat. The atmosphere and staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful with recommending dishes! The dishes are delicious we couldn't get enough. We wanted to try out every dish on the menu but after 8 we were stuffed! Burnt honey panna cotta is a must. We'll be back to try more amazing dishes!!

Hidden gem! This restaurant is absolutely superb. We went there last night, sat at the bar stool area, from where we could follow the wonderful staff at work. The food is predominantly Italian-inspired, despite the head chef and owner being half Spanish, half British.



I ordered risotto as appetizer, lamb-rack as main course and for dessert I got chocolate cake with creme fraize. The risotto was perfectly cooked; absorbed stock, creamy broth and plump rice. The lamb was so tender, tasty and rich in flavour. It came with a spicy sauce that hit home completely... perfectly spiced! The sou chef served the best lamb I've tasted... The chocolate cake did not dissapoint either. It was clear - by both eyes and taste buds - that these people know and love their craft.



Despite the perfect food, the service outdid it all. We had a Spanish waiter, who was conversing and joking with us during the evening. Even though we arrived late, she urged us to get dessert. Warm and charming personality! The whole staff was wonderful.



Bonus info: Surprisingly cheap!

Food is beautifully created and presented by knowledgeable staff in a really friendly unpretentious atmosphere, been here twice with different friends and on both occasions the experience was so good. Can't recommend this place enough. Keep up the good work popolo can't wait to come back again.

Everything your heart desires and more. The food, the service, and the ambiance is excellent. The menu is limited, but just enough to share and enjoy with good company. Come with friends or come by yourself, but promise yourself you'll come hungry and they will make sure you go home happy. :)

Amazing night last night. Dish after dish of the freshest, most fantastic, home made Italian food I've ever tasted. A beautiful setting in chef Jon's stunning loft apartment didn't hurt either. Mix that together with 16 people, most of which have never met before, and it all adds up to a genuinely unique dining experience. Great food, great location, great service and great company.

Amazing food and a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. I wanted to mention a couple of the dishes I particularly enjoyed and ended up listing everything I've eaten here (basically the entire menu) Definitely one to keep visiting as the food is constantly evolving and there's always something new to try!

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food.

We had half of what was on the menu and the food was superb from start to finish. Delicacy, flavours and presentation are outstanding.

We were sitting downstairs and watched the chefs preparing all food and it was so entertaining and interesting that one hour and half passed in a blink of an eye.

Chefs were focused and calm despite the place being really busy.

Esmeralda, restaurant manager, is the customer service in person. Great smile, attitude and enthusiasm that give the place a real buzz.



What a place.

I will recommend it at every chance I get.

AmaZing place. If you like barra fina you will love this place. Great wine, The langouste is crazy. Everything is so tasty and the service super friendly. A welcome addition to the neighbourhood.
