Prentice Of Haddington Description

We started with one coach when, after working for Ian Glass for many years, my father found himself working for Lowland Scottish as Ian had sold his business to them. Used to working for a family business he quickly decided that this was not for him and Don Prentice Coaches was born. We carried our first passengers on the 1st June 1991.
Over the years we have earned a reputation for providing our customers with the very latest coaches always presented in immaculate condition with friendly, knowledgeable and skilled drivers. This has led to us being recognised as one of the leading coach operators in the country. Twenty years later we now run 17 coaches ranging in size from 24 seats up to our largest coaches which can carry 70 passengers.
In November 2012 we won 'Medium Coach Operator of the Year' (11 to 30 vehicles) catagory in the RouteONE Operator Excellence Awards. This was the second year in a row we had been on the finalists shortlist having made it to the final 7 operators in the same catagory in 2011.

*Church St, Tranent Closure*
***UPDATE - The timetables are now available on our buses and on our website - https://bit.ly/2tD26P4 ***
During the closure of Church St from Monday 27th January bus services 110 & 111X will operate a diverted route.
... Due to the lengthy diversion we will be operating a curtailed temporary timetable on Service 110 and unfortunately this service will be unable to serve Cockenzie or Port Seton during this closure due to time constraints. Service 111X will operate a normal route but buses may run a few minutes late.
Passengers can use either our 111 or 118 services to connect to the 110 in Prestonpans. We also have an agreement in place with Lothian Buses that holders of our 'Smartrip' card or passengers with a valid '10 Journey' paper ticket can connect to service 110 by traveling on service 26 between Lidl, Prestonpans and Port Seton whilst the road closure is in place.
We are waiting on authorisation from the Scottish Traffic Commissioner to operate a temporary timetable, once approved this will be available in leaflet form on our buses and on our website.

**Carberry Road 4th December**
THIS CLOSURE WILL NOT HAPPEN
We expressed concern about the proposed closure which would affect our 111 service last Thursday and were informed on Friday that the contractors do not have permission from East Lothian Council to close the road.
... We have been reassured again this morning that despite the contractor not removing the signs the road will not be closed tomorrow.

We were extremely proud to win the Top Independent Bus Operator of the year silver award at today's UK BUS AWARDS in London.
This is the 3rd year in a row we've won the silver after winning gold in 2016. This wouldn't be possible without the hard work and dedication of everyone who works for us, or the amazing support our passengers show us every day. #SilverIsOurFavouriteColour
