Went here yesterday with some friends and I must say the food was lovely and great service too. Will definitely be back again.

User

Went for a family meal yesterday 10/6/18 to say goodbye to my niece who is moving to pastutes new abroad. Very friendly staff. Food was good and they made sure our large party was well looked after, despite everyone eating something different.

User

Me and my family went to the Queens Head for dinner on Christmas Day and it was fantastic! We had never been out for dinner on xmas day before but glad we did. All 3 courses were lovely, there was no rush about getting us off the table as we had it booked for the while afternoon. All of the staff were amazing, they worked really hard and they made sure to keep checking we were ok and asking if we needed anything else. Well done to The Queens Head staff! Thank you.

User

I was surprised how accommodating it is for mums with buggies I the mornings! Far more space than being in a cafe, whilst you can get a nice coffee too. Olly who usually works mornings is so nice too!

Highly recommended

User

I love the Queens

Well I must do as I'm in there everyday.

The beer is good and reasonably priced.

The food is very good with large portions and good value.

Scot the manager is brilliant as are all the bar staff.

It has 2 large beer gardens front and rear.

It is a perfect summer pub .

Well worth a visit .

User

Been to this pub quite a few times and never been disappointed with the food or atmosphere . Staff have always been helpful and courteous and you get good value for money hence the reason I come back when in the area .

User

Went last night for few drink for friends birthday. Never been in pub before had a great evening. Bar staff friendly and helpful. Manager (sorry I think name Russ : had a few to many prosecco’s) was really friendly. Will definitely be going back

User

Staff are friendly and good pub food. My only disappointment was that owing to the fact that we had my three year old granddaughter we were not look permitted to sit at a table overlooking the village pond but were told we had to sit in family area. She was very disappointed as we were there to celebrate her third birthday, and she loves seeing the wild fowl that gather on the pond.

User

Went here with my family on Friday for food place our order and while waiting for our food and drinks was told that the machine wasn't worked big and was asked what soft dryer drinks we wanted. We had the lasagne but tbh it didnt taste like what A lasagne should taste like.

User

Ordered lasagne, was exceeding small & burnt throughout. Informed the bar staff who looked mortified & couldn't apologise enough. I asked if they could swap it for a burger, that was edible but very tough, dry & tasteless. I've eaten here a fair few times & always enjoyed the food. don't know if it's new management or a new chef but it's definitely gone downhill on the food front

User

2 big fat bouncers on the door who couldn't walk 500m never mind run us never a welcoming sight. It's a basic and noisy sad excuse for a pub. Coffee machine was broken.

Staff were pleasant enough and service was fairly quick

User

went here yesterday sat at a table to decide what we would like to eat then went to bar havnt got what we want back to table to decide again didnt have what we wanted after 3 attempts we find something to settle for as all they had! bar staff said we are awaiting new menus i said could u not put a note in menus at tables then he says oh we dnt have enough paper to do that! REALLY! we have them at the bar hmmm most people would sit at a table 1st. so not impressed then food wasnt all that!

User

What a shame that the Queens Head has gone down hill but up on price. Went to have a drink with my husband and ordered a Bailey's latte and coke that came to just under £10. My latte was luke warm and the coke was flat. So expensive. Will not returning.

User

We attended on a warm summer evening. There were 6 adults and 2 children. We were firstly told they were not serving food in the garden, then, (after we had bought a round of drinks), that we had to be out by 7pm, as we had children with us!! In this day and age pubs should be encouraging and nurturing family social time/events, not prohibiting them. As it was, we went to a restaurant across the road and had excellent meals and spent £200, so their loss!

User

Wasn't impressed three bouncers and a pub full of old men the bouncer was falling asleep at one point, the toilet roll in the ladies loos was stuck in all the toilet roll holders and the bar staff looked miserable as if it was an effort to serve you however the pubs massive as is the garden so bring a good band every week fix the ladies up and get the bar staff to be more friendly and the pub should be packed then the bouncers won't be falling asleep 😂

User

So I ordered a classic burger just cheese and onion which comes with chips. My brother ordered rib eye steak with £2 extra surf and turf.

He received a very over cooked surf and turf which was only warm and no juices coming for steak. I have photos to prove. Due to the fact we waited 40minutes he ate what he could as by this point starving. Also never got a steak knife even thou we had asked for 1 a few times.

I received a extremely over cooked burger no juices with a side of lettuce and jacket potato on side???? I told the girl this wasn't my order and told her burger needed to be replace and once again asked for onion and cheese.

My chips then arrived and my time my burger came back I had eaten my 6 chips in a bowl. My brother came back which was the same burger with onion and cheese.

Cheese hasn't melted due to the fact was same burger!!!! Fuming

Manger came over and I was able to show her by taking beef burger out bun and banging it on table how hard it was anyone would this it was few days old!!

Disgusting to think a chef would think its ok to serve food like this. I even asked for him to come and take a bite and tell me if acceptable.

Yes I was refunded but my evening ruined and I went without my food. 5 minutes after the kitchen was closed and no more food was being served. Due to sooooooo many complaints about food.

Queens head has had so many chefs and I don't think they have ever got it right the staff was rude and clearly can't cope under pressure due to 1 barmaid leaving for fag breaks and not washing her hands before serving pints.

A refund to me isn't acceptable to me as no 1 should have to put a burger like that in there mouth!!!

I'm posting this but I will be calling the queens head and writing a letter to papers as its about time they sorted that place out!!

User

Security and the manager tried to kick our family out when we were two courses in to a three course meal, simply because it was 7pm and we had children with us. We had been there for 5 hours and had spent hundreds of pounds for my uncles 50th. Senior bar staff are rude and edgy. One good security guard, the others were homophobic and simple. If you have children do not visit. If you don't have children there are plenty of other fantastic venues in the area.

User

Poor food and poor service! First served someone else's food then main was cold and when asked by them if we wanted the dessert, they then forgot about it so had to ask for it.

User

Me and two friends visited the pub for lunch Saturday 20th August 2016. After eating there once before thought we'd give it another try last time there I had a lasagne burnt on top so I complained they took it away came back with it all the chef had done was take the top off put a load of cheese on it and under the grill it went. Made me fill nauseous looking at it so that went back and got my money back. When we tried it again I had fish cakes and salad fish cakes were dry salad limp and loads of dressing on it and what made me laugh was I had a lemon on it which had just been cut in half and sat on top of salad. My two friends ordered chicken teriyaki with vegetables and noodles (£9) it came up no vegetables and no sauce and to top that it had been microwaved my friend put her fork in it and picked it up in one go disgusting. Sent it back Manager came over to apologise but her answer was "oh yes I see one go out like this earlier" and went on to say they are short staffed. Well a barmaid was standing behind the bar doing her hair barman at the other end talking and customers were waiting. Then went up to bar to get coffee to be told by barman can't do coffee machine is broken. Seeing as your only pub there you need to pull your finger out or your going to end up a block of flats. Very bad experience will not be going back and will be letting friends and family stay away as well.
