It's World Orangutan Day and to mark the occasion our seamstress Viktorija developed this seasonal sea monkey REMADE from immersion suit carry bags. ⠀
Orangutans are iconic victims of deforestation and the palm oil industry. Please avoid buying products that contain palm oil and look for more sustainable options. All proceedings from the sale of this unique mascot will be donated to WWF to preserve this amazing but endangered species🐒♻️⠀

Did anyone spot scavengers wearing CR at Secret Cinema’s recent show Blade Runner – The Final Cut: A Secret Live Experience? True to their nature of re-using discarded items, scavengers wore key REMADE pieces from past and present collections. Thanks to Secret Cinema for the opportunity! http://bit.ly/2KNMCKF

Took my wonderfully talented MSc students to Christopher Raeburn's studio, and spent one of the most incredibly fun and insightful evenings with the man himself, and his team. It was so refreshing to hear such an established and talented designer talk about how things work in the world of fashion. Christopher’s honesty and openness were very much welcomed, and his tips on setting up a business, were inspirational and like nougats of gold to the GCU London MSc Fashion Business Creation students. And not to mention the ‘no holds barred’ Q&A session, access to his incredible archive… we didn’t want to go home!!!! Really and truly thank you so much for opening up your study, and letting us into the world of the 4R’s. Your ethos, and the way you work (it’s really just about doing ‘good’ business) is a true inspiration for the young talent that we are nurturing at the British School of Fashion. Will definitely be back to make some snow leopards in the new year!

User

Thank you Christopher Raeburn for spending so much time with our students and being so open about all areas of your organisation. I truly believe this visit has had an impact on the students and will make them think more creatively and with greater conscience about where they source their materials and how they use them in future.

User

Such a great time and being able to see the studio as well. Will definitely be coming back. Love the lion I made!!!

User

Just wanted to thank everyone in the studio for showing me around, Im so grateful with Christopher and the whole team for making me and my friend feel very welcome. Thanks a lot to the girl that helped me to design my boyfriend’s t-shirt! I truly appreciate Christopher for taking time to explain the story behind the collection. I came across some items created from re-appropriated military materials among them my new favorite Swiss military bag. A really cool experience!

User

Just wanted to say a big thank you for giving me some of your time this afternoon, thanks to every one on the shop floor. I have had the best time learning all about the collections and history behind them. I cant thank you enough for being so kind to me and my mum. I cant wait to come and do a workshop. I would like to do the snow leopard one but i cant seem to book it yet. Sending my thanks mainly to Russel for a great tour. It was extra special meeting the man him self Christopher. Very genuine and funny. I was saying to my mum that i would work in his studio tomorrow if i could. I Hope to see everyone very soon.

User

It was great to visit the studio and hear more about the brand and its ethos of Remade Reduce Recycled and the passion that goes into the products. It always refreshing to meet the person behind the vision. Chris and his team made us very welcome and we left with a special new friend 'Stockholm'. Luckily for us we live locally so will be back in the near future. Jon & Kate

If you're looking for a great way to spend time and to learn about fashion that has tenable goals of changing the world, check out the Christopher Raeburn studio for a tour.

For starters, Chris is a charming, down-to-earth guy who really practices a commitment to sustainability with beautiful designs using ingenious materials that continue the garment lifecycle. This studio is where those garments come together and are conceived, meaning you have the opportunity to poke around his archives and see inspiration and evolution. The rest of the atelier team is equally lovely, and they are quite passionate about the brand mission as well!

Experiencing the studio, talking to the team, and learning about the label, as well as the fun hand's on experience of creating a t-shirt (with organic shirts, of course!) means that you'll have a blast in Hackney.

User

I took a group of BA fashion students for a studio tour and workshop session, Christopher’s explanation of his working methods, inspiration and design process was very informative and engaging. Everyone in the studio was super friendly and keen to help, it’s such a creative and open space. We all had a brilliant time and the beers and t-shirts were an added bonus. Highly recommended experience .

User

I love this brand!

User

I just wanted to say that Christopher Reaburn's design and thoughts on sustainability in fashion go beyond just creating clothing from recycled materials. I own a jacket that needed fixing, the zipper broke. I contacted the the studio and they were able to fix it for me for free. Their customer service is impeccable and I'm very pleased they take such pride in their designs and sustainability and want their customers to wear their clothing for as long as they can. Thank you so much for the amazing service.

Kind regards,

Maurizio, The Netherlands

I attended an Airbnb tour and as a long-time fan of the brand, it was brilliant to see how the studio works, how Christopher and the Design team get their inspiration, and of course, to have a play through the archive, trying on some of the pieces.

Chris made us all feel very welcome, it was very refreshing in its honesty, humour and how down-to-earth his approach was. The group were mixed in regards to their familiarity with the brand, from design & fashion students to a Canadian tourist who just signed up as an interesting thing to do, but the team's commitment to explaining their ethos, the transparency and principles they adhere to, meant that the studio tour had something for everybody.

Chris talked us through how a collection comes together over the course of more than a year, from collection of archive, deadstock and ex-government & military materials, looking to environmental causes and stories of survival to build a narrative, through to building the collection in themes, while ensuring a collection that has both his REMADE experimental and adventurous pieces, alongside more commercial garments, and that both adhere to the 3Rs ethos.

Personally, even as a long time fan, I didn't know that some outerwear was made from recycled woven plastics, you learn something new everyday :)

Chris and the team made everyone feel very at home, any questions were encouraged and answered throughout, we enjoyed some drinks from a local brewery that specialises in reducing food waste, and there was a very fun exercise to end, I won't spoil the surprise.

I highly recommend this, as an insight into a modern fashion studio, that you just wouldn't get elsewhere.

I Love Visting C.R Workshop, Inspiring and exciting! Great Team, non stop creation everywhere and you learn something new every time you go.

User

Hi,

Young innovative team and contemporary clothes pleasant to wear. Made in uk

User

Great ethos, and love his designs. His team are all amazing too.

User

Fandabidozee! Great clothes, a warm welcome in the studio and good sense of community spirit. Keep an eye out for the monthly table tennis tournaments.

User

Christopher is one of the most humble, talented and innovative designers you can meet. The studio is inspiring – you can view the archive gallery of past collection pieces and collaborations, inspiration pieces hanging for new collections, samples being made. It was beautifully curated, light, efficient, immaculate, and surprisingly, for a busy working studio, it was very calm, quiet and had a real welcoming, positive vibe. Highly recommend a visit to inspire you!

User

A lovely, insightful tour. I would highly recommend this to friends, the passion Chris holds for his team and admiration he has for his team is wonderful.

User

A huge thank you to you all for the most incredible repair of my jacket. I'm very happy and hugely impressed at the extent to which it was clearly dismantled before being repaired, which I hadn't anticipated was within the realms of possibility. Lyla and I are also delighted that in pursuing your kind offer we've ended up each buying a new coat from you on our visits, so we've all done well out of this. I will continue to evangelise about your great clothes, good hearted and good looking. We're off to New Zealand for a while and will take all three of our items with us on these travels.

User

Having also wanted to do an off-cut workshop I signed up the most recent one last weekend in partnership with Umbro and used Endland kits. I had such an enjoyable experience creating my own one of a kind lion toy. Christopher and the team were extremely pleasant, I really had fun and learnt so much about the brand too but more importantly all the hard work and hours of creative skill and talent which goes into each garment made. Can not wait to do it all again.
