Did you know that if you race all three of the Trail Series events, you get a special Trail Series hoodie? Is Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones the final piece of the puzzle?

For as little as £39 you could take on the trails for our new Gold Charity Partner, Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Able to access the whole of Wiltshire within 11 minutes, Wiltshire Air Ambulance needs £3.25m a year to keep its paramedic team flying and provide their much-needed lifesaving service to the public.

Running can cure even the worst of days. Who is going to be going out for a run after work this evening?

Did you enjoy the temporary tattoos last year? They don't last forever, but the memories you make on the trail will!

There are plenty of reasons to sign up to Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones, but a fantastic reason would be to raise money for an amazing cause. Is there a charity you're close to that you want to fundraise for?

Did you know that the Avebury Stone Circle is the largest stone circle in Europe & one of the largest in the world? The huge task of constructing this site took about 500 years, starting circa 2500BC. One thing we can ensure is it won't take you 500 years to complete the trail!

the best of the best!!! the most incedible event I ever attempted, organization, crew in base camp and on pit stops, such a nice people!! 🤗 even i did just 50k it is so worthy to go! the views! 😍 was my first ultra, next year 100k 🤙🤙🤙

User

Wow – where to start! This was my second Ultra, after having previously done RTTK. I can honestly say, it was the most brutal, punishing challenge I have ever undertaken! The heat was a real challenge – I’m not sure or convinced if it would have been any easier if it had been cooler.

The Threshold team do a terrific job organizing this stuff, however, there were a few things that need addressing. Pitstop 3 had no toilet roll or hand gel – this was 3hrs before the close off time (same at basecamp at 6:15am day 2). The other thing, the queue to see a Medic at basecamp was madness – I stood for over an hour – standing was the last thing I wanted to do! If you really can’t source enough medics, at least provide seats! These things are super easy to sort out and will make a significant difference to the overall experience.

Now for the great stuff – sign posts were really good – I specifically loved the “not this way” ones. The signs at the pit stops were fabulous – they became a post to family and friends of where I was. The base camp was fabulous – never have I seen such beautiful sunsets or sunrises! My leg massage was simply the best, and I had cake and a beer following – what a way roll. The team at the gate for the 99KM marker were terrific, even when she was telling me I needed to go and run around some stones ;) The compare was hilarious - a real party atmosphere to finish on.

Overall, my summary was “I BLOODY LOVED IT” – however, it is certainly not for the faint hearted!

Many thanks for some fabulous memories!

Melanie - race no: 2200

Totally brilliant event an a must for all levels, especially newbies. To be honest, I did think the £207 entry fee was a bit a steep, I thought after all, I'm the one doing the walking all they're doing is providing signs and a bit of grub. But how wrong I was. I can't even comprehend the organisation it took to provide a start, finish base camp with over a 1000 tents and 9 rest stops with food, huge water bowsers, and decent loos. Let's not forget the excellent medical services. The evening food was top quality - fajitas my favourite but plenty of other choices. Then there's the logistics of moving overnight bags along with the shuttle bus services. On top of all that the super, friendly staff and volunteers. Personally I will treasure the memories of this event, the scenery, the fellow competitors, the Red Arrows flying over as I approached base camp, the little girl sitting on a wall in Ogbourne St George giving strawberries to parched competitors. If you ever do one ultra event, do this one!

User

This was my first ultra. At one point very close to the end i didn't think i was going to finish but my friend who i did this with and lots of other competitors around me (plus a phone call from my running coach) got me to the end.

The organisation of this race is brilliant, cannot fault it and the marshals and medics were absolutely fantastic

User

The best ultra trail series! I have done three of these now and each one gets better. The events are SO well supported, the routes are stunning and the people who attend them are the friendliest. It’s just small touches like the Threshold Crew dotted around the course giving support, the MC cheering you in, the amazing pit stops and the cheeky signs on course. If you’re thinking of doing an ultra, let it be this one!

User

The best event ever - couldn’t recommend it enough. Well marked course, fabulous pit stops, great photos uploaded quickly to social media (so those at home could follow). The ridgeway now has a piece of my heart.

User

Thanks. This is a wonderful well organised event. Pit crews wonderful and with all the fantastic stuff, sun cream etc when needed, the greeting at each one personal and focussed However that was missing at the finish. I did suffer from the heat in the last quarter of each day (weekender) Given that some of us were struggling as me crossed the line, there was little support and no obvious spot I could see to get a drink. This is a minor but important detail.

User

Superb organisation, pit stops were excellent and the marshals and crew all fantastic. Thank you for a special weekend along the Ridgeway!

RTTS2018 was to date one of the best races I've taken part in. Everybody involved from the staff manning the pits tops, medics, drivers, chefs, spectators and competitors were absolutely fantastic. So friendly and couldn't do enough for everyone!

I opted for the non-stop 100km (it's my 5th or 6th over the last 10+ years). I decided to do RTTS so I could collect sponsorship for a young 6yr old lad at my son's school who has a large brain tumor and needs to go to the USA for treatment. What would really top things off is if I could get an extra medal (my race buddy had to drop out at the half way point with heat exhaustion, so I know there's one spare) to send to the little boy in the USA. Something for him to treasure and remind him not only of all the people who've sponsored me on his behalf but to remind him that we're all here for him, willing him to get better and come back home as soon as possible. Thank you again RTTS you were amazing!

User

Please note I am not a competitor.

Some of you may have met me and my friend about 70k in between 22:00 Saturday and 2am Sunday morning. We were sat at the Cross roads playing music and wooping and encouraging at the unofficial 'rave zone' pit stop. We were randomly parked there for the night in our vans and the rave came to us .

So glad most of you took it in such good faith, we had a ball cheering you on and playing your requests.

Well done all of you

User

My first Ultra and opted for the 100k non-stop. An incredible experience in a beautiful part of the world. Certainly not for the faint-hearted but achievable for anyone prepared to put in the hard work and training. Brilliantly organised, and huge thanks to the amazing Threshold staff and wonderful volunteers and random cheerers on route. A special shout out to the NHS doc at pit stop 4 who made me a hat out of bandage and safety pins after I was wilting in the heat - all I had to do was dunk my head in a bucket of water at each stop, job done! Best music at pit stop 6 and the cutest dog too asleep in the shade curled up in a basket. Fantastic food, value for money re entry fee when you consider logistics, infrastructure, organisation and massive support throughout. Went through full range of emotions but came out the other side, elated, proud and feeling very blessed to have been able to take part and raise a few quid for my chosen charity. Any tips on negotiating techniques to persuade my wife to let me come back next year...?

User

Mark B at Pit Stop 7 was a true legend. I had a clothing malfunction and he lent me a pair of shorts that help me to complete the race. Thank you Mark for your act of kindness it was much appreciated. This race is very organised and the athletes are looked after. A challenging but rewarding event.

User

I had a fantastic time at the event only did day 1 but will be back next year. I'd just like to thank all the people who gave up their time at the weekend manning up the pitstops you guys were awesome

User

I had a fantastic day, from the start, through the fantastically stocked pitstops, to the great finish.

I would definitely recommend it to others....and who knows...maybe next year again.

User

Great organisation and event overall.

The route was clearly marked and the marshalling was good and very supportive.

Pit stops were well stocked and very accommodating.

As were the refreshments at the halfway and end points with lots of support available if required.

Can’t wait to the 100km straight through next year!

User

First 100km non-stop walk. Very well organised and very friendly and helpful. The hardest thing I've ever done. I want to do it again.

User

Fantastic event! amazing medics, friendly & energetic volunteers, everyone kept us going in the brutal heat. 27hrs of walking but we got there in the end. Thank you RTTS

User

Brutally amazing. Well organized. Felt safe, looked after and grateful to all those in Pit Stops. Thanks to Sarah at Pit stop 6 for sorting out my blister! Hope your Lochness Marathon goes well! Feeling so proud to have finished in under 20 hours!

User

Brilliant event. Can’t fault it at all. Hardest thing I have ever done, but I’m so glad to have achieved the 100k non-stop!
