When I first applied for a loan with Ratesetter I was relying on them to enable me to replace my old car. Without a new one, I would have lost my job and potentially with that my house too. Initially I was rejected. Rather than a cold computerised "no" a sweet lady called me to let me know that unfortunately my application had been declined. This was due to my name appearing on an ex-partners mortgage towards which I was no longer paying. This led them to believe that I would not afford the repayments.

Naturally, given the nature of my situation I became very upset. Sobbing, I explained my situation to the lady, that I was not actually paying towards all that was listed on my credit report. She listened and asked me to bear with her whilst she made some further checks. 30 minutes later she called me back. They had reviewed my situation and in light of the information I gave them I had been excepted!

Since then I have enthused in recommending rate setter to anyone who would listen! It was my first ever loan. They explain things in simple terms. The conditions of my loan are excellent and customer service is a pleasure. I am an avid supporter of this company who got me out of a really scary time and I am now endlessly loyal to them. How many people can say they are loyal to a lender?! I have never defaulted and come hell or high water I never will.

I pay my loan off this time next year and am now considering becoming a lender!

Thank you Ratesetter, the service you offer is simply impeccable and I don't know how I would have managed without you.

User

Superb - best deal by far and the simplest and quickest to complete when compared to all the other banks. If only every business could give this level of service in terms of ease, simplicity, speed, clarity and overall customer experience. Highly recommended!

User

P2P lending, better rates than you get from a bank. Very good customer service.

User

Miles better than anything else available. 5 year market is sweet!!

User

I've found them nothing but helpful so far :)

User

I borrowed £15K and repaid it over 2 years I paid £300 in charges I think it was - a bank would have been about £3K ten times rate setter

User

Fast and efficient would recomend to any body to use them.

User

Far better rates than saving in a normal ISA account.. Staff friendly and helpful. Always kept up to date on how account is performing, with monthly summary emailed. Makes saving more fun by being able to set your own interest rates, according to market conditions.

User

Excellent slight problem sorted in seconds payday lenders no way this company is ace

User

Excellent 3.9% rates meaning less total interest (£100 less than Nat West) paid back. Peer to peer lending is a great option for customers.

User

Absolutely fantastic service, I have and will in the future, most definitely recommend ratesetter, and would definitely use their services again in the future

User

I've been a customer from the early days. Expansion is stretching customer service - and other areas maybe. Response time used to be same day to 1 day. Then it goes to 3 days & now 5. Reasons given today (Feb11) are the Festive period(!) & staff shortages. They are dealing with people's money & should be responding much faster. For this & other reasons, I'm concerned about long term viability.

User

Have lent money with ratesetter for a couple of years, I used to be a big fan of the clarity, transparency of the platform and the provision fund allowing for consistent returns.

The recent changes to the rolling market have put me off however. I was accepting a lower rolling rate as it gave me more control over my money. I don't want to be locked into a long term low rate or else have to wait 14 days to change markets. My account was set up to not re-invest the capital amount but the policy was applied retroactively.

If I'm going to be locked into a rate, I might as well get 6% with your competitors. Bit of a shame as I find ratesetters site a lot better to use. Please let me know if you change back and I'd consider re-investing.

User

everybody must know that this company is lying..when you are getting a positive quote..after that you apply for a loan and you are rejected..so all the quotes from this company are a lie so don't trust them because it will affect your credit score

User

can't provide tax statements now middle may

User

Very poor service, attitide appalling, communication terrible

User

Liers! No help what so ever. Do not use this shit company

User

Infuriating to deal with. Have been informed that money has been returned back to me however is yet to make an appearance in bank account. Have been chasing this issue for a month now and is not getting sorted. Hate to do these sorts of public posts but feel it's my only option to get noticed.

User

Awful to get hold of! Just spent a full hour on hold and I only wanted to ask a question that wasn't on their website. They also only have one number to call! I only got through by having two phones ringing them! Customer service was also very rude and actually laughed when i asked what i wanted and said "haha no you cant do that". Very unprofessional with no phone eticate. I have a loan with them and wanted to consolidate it but they won't take any credit card as payment or even to balance transfer. Absolutely ridiculous! You're better off just getting a bloody credit card! Sales team were excellent as always to make a sale! That doesn't happen when you actually have a loan with them and need to talk to a human though! I could rant all day about this so you get the jist. Stay away from RATESETTER!
