Food poverty is a very real issue in the UK and there is currently no Government strategy to help deal with the problem.

Food banks are doing some amazing work in providing a safety net for families who have been affected by unemployment, benefit cuts and the rising cost of food, energy and just about all other basics that many of us take for granted.

This winter many families will have to make a very difficult choice between heating their homes or putting food on the table.
