The second weekend of Santa trains are begining to fill up with some trains over half full. Each train has space for 16 children to book onto and dont forget each child ticket has a free adult with them. Once you have been round on the train you go into the museum, which has been transformed into the christmas waiting room with snacks and drinks to be enjoyed. Then its into see Father Christmas i his grotto to make sure he knows what they want for christmas and to get a present made out in each childs name. This year there are a few extras with the facepainting in the museum and the funfair outside with a few extra stalls food in form of baked potatoes and an icecream van. But please note these extras are not in the ticket price so you will need extra money and not cards.

Working on making the last of the beading for the three new red seats only 11 lengths this time for the small gap on the last seat. I dont know why but they say I always make a mess in the workshop.

As a slight change to the last few posts about Santa trains, on weds night on MTV at 8pm the railway will be on Teen mum uk as one of the mums came to Rhyl and us on holiday so its something to watch.

User

A few pictures of the extra things we have for you to enjoy this christmas. The first pics are of the fun fair rides and side stalls which include hot baked potatoes. The last pic is of mrs santa who will be in the museum to do face painting. Please remember these are an extra cost on the day and even if not on our trains you can enjoy the fair.

Busy night tonight. The first batch of Santa tickets ready to post tomorrow. Dont forget one train is all ready full and closed and the rest are starting to fill up so if you want your first choice its best to book asap.

User

Well we have put the train away from the last day of public running. It only remains for me to thank all our volunteers who have helped run the railway this year and all the passengers who have visited us this year. Dont forget we are back open for Santa trains in December. So thought I would post this video from today. Its Prince Edward of Wales going round from today.

User

Prince Edward of Wales on train duty today being looked after by driver Josh. We are running till 4pm today and then again tomorrow from 1030 till 4pm which is the last day of the season.

User

This years Santa trains are open for booking. Come and join us for a festive trip on the train and then meet Santa in his grotto where every child will get their own present. We will have transformed the museum into a christmas waiting room with drinks and snacks to enjoy while you wait your turn to go into the grotto. This year there will also be a facepainter in there and a funfair out site. Please note these are not in the price and are extras.

User

Its that time again. Our booking system is up and running ready for you to book your seats. Last year was very busy with almost no space left so book to avoid missing out. We have added a fifth day this year to have more space. New for this year will be a face painter in the museum and a funfair outside, there is an extra charge for these so please be aware of this.

User

Took a video as we headed back from meeting Flying Scotsman. We are back open tomorrow from 1030 till 4pm and then next weekend is the last weekend we are running and both days will be steam. The current plan is for Prince Edward of Wales to be running both days.

User

Trains running till 4pm with Clara in charge today.

User

Flying Scotsman coming past hard on the heels of the service train so not going very fast. Big crowd here to watch it past too.

User

Sitting waiting for flying scotsman

User

Heres the times for Flying Scotsmans trip past us tomorrow.

User

A busy day in the carriage and wagon department nailing on the beading to the three new red seats and fixing on the beading set removed from one of the seats taken off so it can go on the seat that had it missing. Off shopping next for more beading ready for next weekend

What a lovely day I had with my daughter and 3 year old grandson, the setting was perfect, including the timing ( which was longer than 10 mins contrary to previous review) as it advertises being a miniature railway, I expected exactly what I got ( unlike Llangollen which is 3 times the price and overcrowded to the point it is inpersonal, and not a miniature railway) my grandson was 3 years old so length of journey was perfect, seeing santa was personal including the present specialy wrapped. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely return, have recommended to friends to join us next year. We thought the dirty elves were part of the authenticity !!!

User

We’ve just been on the Santa train, and it was brilliant! 4 happy little ones! Brilliant gifts from Santa too. Can’t wait for next year!

User

We went on the train on Sunday morning & it was great - kids loved it & the Santa was fab . Thanks.

User

We went on Monday with our 6 year old Grandson, we all loved it! Brilliant value, loved he history and nostalgia, the diver is very friendly and chatty, even the little tickets are great!

Great family day out, with the park and shop. We'll definitely come again, can't recommend it enough!

User

Visited the railway on our summer holiday to Towyn at the start of August. All the family young and old enjoyed both trains and museum. With the park and lake in close proximity it's a great way to keep everyone entertained for a few hours.

User

Visited for the second time this year, yesterday morning. My 5 yr old son loves the train ride but especially loved it yesterday as the engine was named 'Michael'. Lovely ride around the marine lake in the sunshine and he also enjoys the playground. Bit expensive for the adult ticket price but have seen alot more expensive miniature train trips so overall reasonable price if only one adult and one child. Would definitely recommend a visit

User

Very good value for money and dog friendly

User

Took my 2 yr old to go see Santa on the train (the mini polar express we called it,) along with loads more family, we had a lovely time there! Kids were so excited to go on and the staff were all lovely. will be coming back in the warmer weather!

User

Paid my first ever visit to the railway last Sunday really enjoyable time my grandchildren absolutely loved the place and the two train rides we had just a shame I never got to see Railway Queen doing its test runs though it was in steam at the station during our visit.Really well run railway with very friendly staff hope to visit again soon.

User

My little boy loved it here. He went on the train twice. Lovely place to walk around the marina lake too and go crab fishing x

User

My grandson was 6 on the day we went on this and he loves trains. The weather was lovely so that was a bonus. Although It's only a short journey round the lake he really enjoyed it.

User

I think its great value. My nieces love it. The trip around the Marina is really nice and the little museum with things the children can play with to make them interested and educate them about the railway is really good.

User

I had a smashing time today, I love the steam locomotives, the ticket price are so cheap and the voulnteers were very so friendly, I been going to this railway afew times and it's still one of the best miniature railways in the world. ☺

User

Had a lovely time, my daughter really enjoyed it, staff so helpful and friendly. Will definitely will return again, and will definitely do the Santa specials next year if we're in the area.

User

Had a brilliant day Easter Sunday with my Daughter and Hubby and 3 grandchildren. We love it here up nearly every weekend grandson love the day ticket for the train and the staff are very friendly. And it great for a picnics by the lake if the weather ok.

User

Great place too take the kids, staff are brilliant and a lovely activity for a small amount of money. If your in Rhyl it's a must

User

Fantastic! The staff were brilliant with the children too!

User

Best place on Rhyl I think! Loved the history of the place, kids delighted with it all. Agree twice round the lake would be better. Wish we' d have been told when we arrived that Thomas would go in half an hour... we' d have played in the super play areas till then... a much more family friendly experience than the diesel...

User
