Coming to Pembroke Lodge tomorrow :)

User

Just one month to go until the world's biggest duathlon comes to Richmond Park! Please note all park roads will be closed & cyclists not participating in the event can of course still access the park but we ask them to use the Tamsin Trail rather than the roads while the event is on.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there!

This weekend is Prudential RideLondon meaning there are road closures in and around Richmond Park on Sunday 29 July - more here: https://www.royalparks.org.uk/w…/upcomi ng-events/ride-london

A great big hello from the reception team at Holly Lodge in Richmond park! Please enjoy the lovely weather forecasted for this week, and please take note of all the parks rules and regulations before your visit.

User

Blue-green algae is present at Pen Ponds due to the prolonged hot weather. Please adhere to the signs and stay away from it as it is toxic.

What a lovely photo.

Good morning everyone. There seems to have been an incident on the Star and Garter Hill just outside Richmond Gate. If possible, please avoid. As a consequence, congestion inside the park will be at an all time high, so please keep note and stay updated as to when the issue will be resolved. Many thanks

Midsummer in Richmond Park is a glorious time, and now you can experience the park like never before on a traditional carriage drawn by our majestic Shire horses.
This 90 minute experience begins at Holly Lodge, Richmond Park, where you’ll be met with summer refreshments. You’ll learn all about our conservation and community work, and you’ll meet our gentle giants up close and personal. You then take your place in the six-seater Park Brake carriage for an hour-long ride through the park in all its midsummer beauty!
Proceeds from the horse drawn rides will help fund sustainable conservation initiatives with the working Shire horses in the Royal Parks.

Hello everyone! Just a quick reminder that tomorrow,13th and 14th of June, the road will be closed at Robin Hood roundabout. This means Robin Hood car park and Pen Ponds car park will be inaccessible via vehicle. cyclists will be required to dismount and either use the Tamsin trail (5 MPH), or walk past the works. During this period, we will be doing a number of different works to minimise disruption. We apologise for any disruption caused.

Some good news, on Friday the swans that had been attacked were returned to the park with their cygnets, safe and well :)
Photo from two weeks ago by @chaitdeshphotography

User

A reminder to please not approach the deer, especially during birthing season. I know you guys are well informed but please feel free to share and help educate others :)

User

I'm sad to say that this swan was attacked by a dog on Bank Holiday Monday, sustaining serious injuries. He's being cared for by the Swan Sanctuary but his partner is now alone looking after their six cygnets.
This is one of many reported attacks recently. Please keep dogs on leads and encourage other park users to do the same around Pen Ponds.

User

Hello everyone.
Another bank holiday is fast approaching, and we would just like to remind you all that numbers will be very high in the park, and with numbers comes litter! please be mindful of the other users and the staff and use the bins provided. we are aware it can overflow at times, and we will work to the best of our ability to resolve this.
Have a great weekend!

User

Thanks to all the dog walkers who have been spreading the message about avoiding the deer during birthing season.
The deer are especially protective at this time of year and can get aggressive. Please do continue to make people aware to keep their dogs on leads and stick to the busiest areas :)

User

What a glorious sunshine day on Bank holiday!!! It made the park even more beautiful... the colours of the leaves on the trees, plants and flowers were so vivid! I had a great day walking from Wimbledon to Richmond park and stopped for a lovely lunch at Pembroke Lodge, a delicious lunch by the way. I rested by the two ponds and walked all the way back to wimbledon, coming across with the wild and beautiful deers!

User

Walk in the midst of nature.... grazing deers, chirping of birds... Isabella Plantation was wonderful at this time of the year, fully blooming ❤️

User

Such an incredible space & place... nurturing peace & healing. Also, as a visitor from the land of Oz (Melbourne) having Sir David Attenborough as a local resident and supporter of the grounds must be pretty special too!!

User

Stunning parklands, really well kept. Very relaxing, restful place from city life

User

Richmond park is a wonderful place to visit staff there are extremely helpful .Did'nt see many deer. Definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't been before. My wife last went there twenty eight years ago. I have never been before

User

Richmond Park is a beautiful Royal Park. It's great for cycling, hiking, walking and driving through. The park is home to many deer and wild life with hills, many trees and various bodies of water. If you want to forget you live in a city, visit this natural wonder to get in touch with nature.

User

Me and my husband, Our favourite park. Especially in summertime is awesome .love the plants ,animals and atmosphere. We spent all day in the park.

User

It's as if you're way way out in the British countryside- not near on central London. I did the 10 mile run 13th May and couldn't believe how remote it all seemed. The deer and other wildlife were unfazed by the crowds. Amazing huge and ancient trees, absolutely wonderful for the soul.

User

It's a great opportunity to walk away from the technology to goo back in the nature.....!!!!

User

I and my friend loved that wonderful park.We spent nearly all day there. The weather was great

and we took great time to walk and enjoyed on the places and on the wildlife animals. We felt so refreshed. We think go back again in some sunny day.

User

Cycled to the park from Tottenham yesterday, lovely weather was complemented be the surroundings, what a glorious park with something for everyone.

User

Amazing! No other words.

Beautiful in the winter, lovely in spring. Close the University and a perfect "bridge" between Kingston and Richmond.

User

All year round the park offers exciting experience for nature lovers. And if you are lucky you can have a close look at wonderful animals like deer and rabbits. Richmond Park is a real treasure for London and its visitors. Respect nature - it is our God given gift

User

A magical experience anytime of the year come rain or shine. The wildlife is just wonderful. From the parrots to the birds of prey and not forgetting the deer... just stunning

User

A beautiful retreat a stones throw from central London. Capture the city vista from the park. Worth a visit.

User

Weather was great so there was a lot of people out yesterday. There was also an organised run in the park which added to the numbers. There really needs to be park wardens on busy days, especially at the parking areas which become logged jammed when full. They also need to patrol the cycle and walk areas to make sure people adhere to "rules of the road". Way too many people walking or cycling aimlessly and not watching or looking out! It makes for a hazardous day out!

User

We have been to Richmond Park twice. It is a beautiful, huge countryside park where you can get away from technology and be at one with nature. The famous deer walk freely, there are lots of birds to spot as well as trees dating back as far as the 1500s.

Unless you are a very keen walker, the park is so huge that once you have explored one area, you need to drive to another. There are car parks dotted around, but they are always absolutely manic. But parking is free.

There are various kiosks and vans selling ice cream and snacks, and a few cafés, which we haven’t visited as we took a picnic.

The advice given on the website is that they ask people to refrain from BBQs in order to protect the park. We saw three people having BBQs plus another family started a small bonfire! There needs to be park rangers roaming the busy areas in order to keep this beautiful park just that- beautiful.

Now on to the cyclists. It’s fantastic that you can hire a variety of bikes and trailers so that you get around the park easily. We will be doing so in the future. However, many cyclists are a law unto themselves... weaving in and out of moving cars and not sticking to the speed limit of 20mph. They also seem to ride down the middle of the road making safe overtaking impossible. It would be great if there designated cycle lanes or at least someone who can monitor the situation.

However, a very pleasant park where children can be children.

User

Richmond Park is a lovely open green space and the Isabella Plantation is especially beautiful at this time of the year.

User

Beautiful park. I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon I spent there picnicking and walking with my partner amongst gorgeous trees and all the different little nooks. It lost a star for me as the toilets need some work. Looked like dodgey tube toilets and not what I would expect from such an otherwise amazing space. Especially if you are charging people to use them. But I would definitely return to this gorgeous natural space and switch off from London for a while
