This year has been one of the toughest and definitely most rewarding ones so far. I started it by leaving someone that I cannot call an ex, because we never were a thing. In his eyes at least. I lost a close friend, because the feelings he harnessed for me weren't matching mine. I bid another friend goodbye thanks to a girlfriend who disliked seeing him happy with someone else...even though I felt for him like a big sis would for her little brother. For four precious months ...I had my feelings trembled again and again, my heart shattered into a billion pieces because a man couldn't make up his mind as to which of the two girls he liked more. Turned out, he did like me. Well, my body, my vulnerability and yearning to be loved, because I was so ready to release this enormous love that I had been carrying these past twenty-nine years. Now, for the past three months I have had to turn my life around completely, beginning a new business, turning my dreams into action and going to Bali to undergo, and what I can easily call the best decision of my life: a journey of self-study on how to live an authentic life, reigned by the heart. @alchemyofyoga, @colechanceyoga and @inspiredyogagal brought me to my soul tribe, my kula...I made family with every single lightworker I had the honour of being with, of growing with, sharing belly-hard laughs and tears of pain and release. I have entered a magical relationship with a someone who challenges me in all possible ways to see me grow. I had read about love, tried to understand and attempt to feel it...and failed miserably on the way. Love, they say, has to be experienced. And you will know when you're there. It'll feel alike nothing else. Now, nearly thirty years into my life I am experiencing love I had cried myself to sleep for, love I had wished for while holding myself to keep me warm when there was no one around. Every step of the way I clung onto the belief that everyone is deserving of the deepest kind of love. And that the universe has a funny way of testing you, breaking you over and over until you recognise your internal beauty to stand tall and declare, 'I deserve to be loved, too.' No kidding, it feels bloody scary to be so vulnerable with someone and allow them to see you. You. You as you truly are. Just imagine. I feel petrified and at the same time ready to leap. To rise in love, see the dark and the light and to love both for they make you who you are...that is the most powerful journey.
