The Garden tour is extremely interesting - historically and scientifically. Although I didn’t understand most of the science, one’s respect for both plants and the people who extract medicines from them (as if by magic, but it isn’t) increases immeasurably.

User

One of the best abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR) conferences I have ever attended! Congratulations David Ross and Al Windsor on a fantastic meeting and gathering.

I am so angry and upset that I've had to largely resort to self-help methods and the internet in order to try and get my health back since first being diagnosed with under-active thyroid some 13 years ago. I have not felt completely well since first being prescribed T4 medication, and despite repeat return visits to my GP and specialists, as my blood tests were all shown as 'normal' - I still seemed to be suffering many of the symptoms associated with underactive thyroid but the medical profession just didn't seem interested and seem totally fixated with looking at blood test results alone!! This is absolutely ludicrous and unacceptable and they should examine other symptoms as well. It is only within the last 3 years that I have discovered the existence of T3 medication (via websites such as Thyroid Patient Advocacy and Thyroid Uk) and have been taking a small amount (alongside T4) after again seeing a specialist who prescribed it as trial (although very reluctantly). I am now only just getting back to my normal self. I have the utmost respect for the NHS and the medical profession but feel severely let down regarding this illness - there is real suffering going on here and we can't all be making it up. Please, Please can someone within the RCP look into this?
