Went at invitation of LEAVE MEANS LEAVE to hear a Pro-Brexit Speech by Lord Norman Lamont.

Beautiful old building full of character and charm as you would expect in Whitehall.

Staff welcomed me in and were friendly and well organised.

The meeting went ahead in a beautiful old room- quite intimate.

I was able to sit quite close to the speaker even though there were a lot of Press there.

It was comfortable and I could hear Lord Lamont quite clearly.

He started pretty much on time and delivered an excellent speech.

Afterwards in a neighbouring and also beautiful room we were treated to wine and good quality canapés by very attentive staff.

I was delighted to be able to actually meet and talk to Lord Lamont, and also have a good length conversation with Owen Paterson MP, who is very much one of my heroes in Parliament.

A thoroughly enjoyable event!

My great thanks go to the LEAVE MEANS LEAVE team and to all the very good staff at RUSI.

Would highly recommend a visit there on any opportunity.

I've been attending the United Nations Peacekeepers day for many years, except a few years ago when it was fully booked and I couldn't get a place. There have been some wonderful speakers about Peacekeeping in difficult and dangerous areas, and one speaker who stands out was Gen Patrick Cammaert. Perhaps they could get him back. However, all the speakers have been superb. Its a moving day, with wreath laying at the Cenotaph. Why the event doesn't get on TV News always astounds me.

User

Great institution helping the UK stay at the forefront of international security and defence research

Fascinating - the quality of the debate (both speakers and audience) is unparalleled

I am searching for someone who can verify that my father,

who is now 94 years old, was in the Special Operations Executive in London during WW2. His memory is brilliant. Would there be an historian there who could help me. Kind regards
