For our regulars the Barr Stools need no introduction. They are a 6+ piece traditional Scottish folk band who can get the bar bouncing.
It is the Barr Stools who will be charged with getting the party started for our 3rd 'Big Air Weekend'. This is a kitesurfing event where kitesurfer set battle over the weekend to see who can jump the highest and take home the crown. A brilliant fun weekend for kitesurfer and spectators!

Wow what a place!

We arrived the 23rd June for a week and we’ve had a beautiful week here!

Our beautiful new static on the newly developed Warren was absolutely stunning. Very clean and perfectly maintained. You can tell a lot of care goes into this site.

Beach is a stones throw from site but the low tide was pretty far away. My nan can’t walk far but we were allowed to drive on the beach so we could take her to the sea without any issues whatsoever.

All staff were very friendly and courteous, checking to see if we required anything throughout our stay.

I thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a great value holiday which can be very hard to find in the UK at the best of times.

Thank you so much....WE WILL be back

We started full time motorhome life in March .

We have stopped on lots of sites on our travels and by far this has got to be our favourite .

I was born in Stranraer & did spend a lot of time in my younger years at Sandhead & wanted to come back while we were touring Scotland . As my husband is English I wanted to bring him to my birth town & for sure he has not been disappointed.

We booked for 3 nights then extended it to 8 nights .

We checked in and staff were so welcoming & friendly , the toilets & showers are immaculate the best we have seen on our travels .

We had a meal one of the nights food was perfect & staff very pleasant .

We leave tomorrow after a fantastic 8 days on this site no problems at all & will definitely return in the near future xx

We have just enjoyed a couple of nights camping at this site. What a lovely place to visit . The beach stretches for miles and we were able to exceed our Fitbit step challenge every day without even thinking about it. The toilets and showers were immaculate . Good sized shower cubicles with no plastic shower curtains thank goodness.

The restaurant /bar is tastefully decorated and has a large outdoor area.

We enjoyed The Galloway breakfast on two mornings.

Which was delicious. If you fancy

something different there are plenty of alternatives on the menu.

The prices are very reasonable for a quality product.

The restaurant uses locally sourced products which I commend them for.

Being a bit of a "tea Jennie" I loved the big cups they served the tea in.

I must commend the staff for their bright cheery manner.

Particularly the chef and the young barman who were on while we were there .

The owners are trying very hard to get the whole camping experience right, and I think they are doing a fantastic job.

We hope to return in the not too distant future.

We come once a year to this beautiful place. We are fortunate enough to have an aunt & uncle who let us stay in their holiday home. My 2 sons (5&6) love the freedom of playing outside & going to the parks. The lovely beach is a 2 min walk. The Lighthouse bar has also started doing themed food nights at the weekends. The burgers are delicious & reasonably priced.

Would highly recommend a wee visit to Sands Of Luce.

This is one of Scotland's hidden gems. We've found that friendly, helpful staff work hard to meet your every need and are never too busy to help. The site itself has undergone a huge amount of regeneration in the last couple of years. It now has new facilities for laundry and personal needs, making the stay more comfortable for both motorhome and touring caravan users. The new pitches used by short stay guests overlook the bay, making the setting near perfect. The newly redesigned and renovated Lighthouse Bar is accessible for disabled guests and sells a fine selection of food and drink - the crispy pizza's (gluten free or vegetarian if required) are a, 'to die for'. Luce Bay's miles of sandy beach are accessed by ramp, ensuring wind and kite surfers, sailors and fishermen can all enjoy the opportunity to pursue their hobbies. It also makes life easier for those less mobile, or disabled, to access the shoreline. There's a well-stocked shop in nearby (walkable) Sandhead for basic supplies, with Stranraer no more than a handful of miles away for major purchases. For anyone seeking a peaceful break on Scotland's southwest coastline, this must surely be one of its finest settings.

Really enjoyed our first visit in July 2017 - fabulous beach and park - touring block nice and small. Mixture of glorious sunshine days and and colder days - just took off for a wander in the car on the colder days so much to see up and down the beautiful coastline - great holiday spot for a peaceful holiday. Thankyou

User

Just back from a weekend in our campervan at this site. Extremely friendly people (owners and other holiday makers), bar is great and the food was delicious. Shower block is clean and modern.

Good spot for exploring surroundings.

We will definitely be back.

User

Just back from a weekend here. Stayed in our own tent. The site itself had plenty of decent areas to choose from right next to the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The wash room and shower facilities were excellent and kept absolutely immaculate which is important especially when the weather gets a little ropey in October.

The lighthouse bar was also excellent with good selection of draught and bottles and hats off to the pizza chefs!

User

Half way through our two week holiday and it has been amazing. Staying in one of the 2 bedroom statics in the Warren we are a short walk to the beach where the sea is clear and the sand is golden. The Lighthouse bar is excellent, clean and modern with delicious food. Looking forward the next week of our hols. We will definitely be back
