A man who committed a spate of crimes in London on a stolen scooter is the second offender this month (May) to be jailed after being identified by SelectaDNA tagging spray, one of the Met’s innovative tactics against moped and scooter-enabled crime.

The court heard how the offender stole a scooter and used it to steal phones. Local police used DNA tagging spray on a number of vehicles which led them to him. DNA and fingerprint evidence was obtained from the abandoned scooter as well as the helmet and stolen phones left behind...
