The dentist was so friendly and made us feel at ease straight away. It was the first time I’d taken my son and the dentist and her assistant were so patient and made it fun for him. Really good customer experience!!

Saw Emma at the practise. Having not been to the dentist for an embarrassingly long time due to a bad experience at a previous practise, I thought I’d try this one through numerous recommendations. Signing up online for an appointment was simple. From start to finish I was made to feel instantly at ease by the welcoming receptionists and then by Emma. I can’t recommend Emma enough, she easily calmed my nerves and has me feeling confident in coming back for my next appointment.

Lovely place, we recently registered here and I was late out of work and for my app, they where so understanding and done their best to accommodate my family and I. My partner and son where seen as they couldn’t fit me in. (My fault for being late) but the Dentist was great with both my partner who has a fear of the dentists and my 2 year old. Overall the staff where lovely and welcoming, great with kids. The place was clean bright spacious and had a lovely feel about it, definitely recommend.

I've had mixed experiences at the dentist, more bad than good, that resulted in me avoiding my check ups for almost 6 years. Recently conquered my fear by having Alan be patient and empathetic towards my anxiety and working with me throughout my treatment to help me succeed. Now I've had root canal treatment without sedation which is something I would have laughed at months ago.



Highly recommend Alan Howie if you experience any anxiety.�

I was in for my regular checkup yesterday, I knew I had a problem with one of my teeth, I was given options, advice and was shown the X-ray . Given an appointment that was suitable to me . Dr. Howie is friendly and professional .

I had my first visit to my new dentist Harri today . In comparison to my old dentist , Harri was really thougher, I felt comfortable as soon as I arrived in reception . Luckily the dentist has never scared me , I'm just thankful to get help in looking after my physical well being . If I can improve on my health by coming to my dentist regularly , then it can only be a positive thing . I look forward to having some treatment done by Harri in the next week or so . Thank you to all involved ! �

I cannot recommend Shawlands Dental Care highly enough. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel completely at ease. They go well above and beyond for their patients - From Alex at reception who is both helpful and accommodating to Emma my dentist who has been so kind and understanding - plus her work is first class! She always goes the extra mile, one of the best dentists I have come across. Super place with super people!!

I attended the clinic for a dental implant procedure a few days ago. My treatment was explained to me thoroughly, and was fast and painless. I was made to feel at ease from the moment I arrived at the clinic due to the friendly atmosphere of the staff.

Highly recommend this practice and especially Alan Howie. I used to be terrified of the dentist but Alan is patient, understanding and calming. After avoiding the dentist for a long time, Alan made me a treatment plan and explained everything along the way and took on board the end result I wanted and made it happen. I had necessary work done as well as whitening, and my experience of both was excellent. Now my treatment is finished I can’t stop looking at my teeth as I am so happy with them. I’ll never go anywhere else and I recommend him to everyone!

Exceptional service and really professional. My dentist, Dr Harron Ismail, did an amazing job of removing my silver fillings to white fillings. He really takes care of his patients and is a perfectionist.

Emma, my dentist was very gentle and kept me informed of what she was doing. If I had been of a nervous disposition I'm sure she would have put me at ease. Staff were so helpful and kept me up to date with when I would be taken for my appointment. A very clean and pleasant practice..can recommend.

Came here for my registration appointment with Dr Emma Sinton after some emergency treatment at the Dental Hospital.

The surgery itself was spotlessly clean and well organised, and the reception staff were friendly, well presented and very helpful.

My check up was very thorough and treatment options explained to me in a way that I understood. Due to the nature of my situation I opted for extraction, so instead of booking me in for another day and prolonging the agony, she managed to squeeze me in to her schedule almost immediately after my allocated appointment time. Dr Sinton and the nurse ensured I was kept comfortable during the whole procedure, and responded promptly when I required more anaesthetic. As a result, the procedure was painless and I felt very relaxed.

Dr Sinton explained my aftercare clearly to me and she answered my questions without hesitation.

In summary, I am delighted with the service from everyone I encountered at the Practice. I am looking forward to returning for the next stage of my treatment. Keep up the awesome work!

Alan and his team made me feel valued and relaxed. Their advice, professional and reassuring treatment was excellent. The only thing Alan has to work on is his jokes!! Thanks

After suffering years of anxiety attending the dentist I was recommended Alan Howie by a friend with a similar issue. He put me at ease from the minute I got on to the chair and the treatment was completely painless. I can now look forward to my 6 monthly check ups rather than dread them. 5 stars! �

I would recommend Shawlands Dental Practice. I attended the practice last December after I had a large abscess on the roof off my mouth from an infected gum. I’ve not been one to attend the dentist due to childhood trauma going to the school dentist. I saw Neil Campbell and he was excellent, explains things very clearly and puts you at ease chatting away while he carries out the work required. His manner has gone a long way in removing my anxiousness of going to the dentist. Thanks very much...

I have a terrible phobia of the dentist after bad experiences so much that I need to be sedated to have any work done. I registered here and after my first consultation with Neil campbell i felt a little better and now after 3 or 4 visits i have been able to have fillings done and yesterday had two root canal treatments done without any sedation

Certain reception staff need to work on their people skills - flippant attitude at times.

I am very pleased to go this practice now I have Emma looking after my teeth. She is absolutely lovely and makes the whole experience just so much easier than any dentist I ‘be had before. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
