With the NHS stopping Paper FP17 in April 2015 they are introducing a Web Portal so that instead of posting the FP17 you will have to type them into a web page!
You will have to type the Patient details including address every time you submit a form.
With Our EDI System, the patient details are retained so that they are there for the next claim. The patient details are easily entered as we have a Post Code Database. An audit trail of claims is retained and UDA information gi...ven at the time of the claim.
The Patient database created can be used as an appointment and recall system including SMS

By adding the Signature Pad, you can remove the paper FP17 forms completely and save on all that storage space.
The software can be also used for patient billing and charges just by having a further training session.

Most companies do not deliberately make it difficult to convert from their systems
However, Systems for Dentist www.sfd.co deliberately encrypt Your Data and refuse to un-encrypt should a customer wish to move to another supplier. They say that they will provide a “Read Only” version so that the practice can look up past records. It means that as well as the new computer system, the practice has to keep the Systems for Dentist Computer in order to comply with the legislation....
I personally can’t understand why they are so keen to hold on to an unhappy customer and act in a manner so as to make them even more disgruntled.
If I was considering purchasing a Practice Management system for my Dental Practice. I would think very hard before choosing a system that I had to stay with no matter what. Non of the other suppliers including ourselves prohibit data conversion by a reasonably competent person. Please contact them and check for yourself and ask for their policy in writing.

Who Owns YOUR Computer Data? We (Shire Dental Computers) have recently installed a new computer system at a dental practice. We offer a free data conversion, however in this instance the data was found to be encrypted making it unreadable. We contacted the previous computer supplier SFD (Software for Dentist) and they state that they would not un-encrypt the data and the only way it could be accessed is using their own computer system. What's your opinion?
