In keeping with our annual tradition, the wonderful space of Shoreditch Church will be filled with candlelight and singing. Join us for a beautiful evening of carols and worship on the 16th of December at 6 o'clock.
This year, our organist Clare Whitehead and soprano Lucy-Kate Johnson are joined by special guests Myriad Quartet.

A free evening of architecture and archaeology talks discussing the unique history of St Leonard’s Shoreditch, from its Norman roots and Shakespearean worshippers to its current Georgian structure, and hopes for the future preservation of this London gem

6.15pm: Sarah Khan RIBA, Church Architect takes guests on an architectural history tour of the crypt (appropriate footwear advised) and nave
... 7pm: Claudia Tommasino, Archaeologist and site manager for the recent Museum of London Archaeology dig, explains the search for medieval foundations within the current Georgian building

SATURDAY 22nd September from noon: SHOREDITCH CHURCH OPEN DAY AND COMMUNITEA
We’re delighted to announce we’re throwing open the doors all weekend to celebrate our recent award from Heritage Lottery Fund for the restoration project to our front façade and iconic bell tower.
... Our Open Day this Saturday 22nd runs a series of family and community ‘heritage taster events’ to gather interest for a series of arts projects over 2019 celebrating our church’s rich heritage. COME ON DOWN WE’D LOVE TO SEE YOU!

3pm: FAMILY DRAMA WORKSHOP
A special guest appearance from The Ghost of Richard Burbage taking families on a journey back to where the plays of Shakespeare and his peers first began. Interactive family fun and drama from The Tempest, forsooth! http://www.shoreditchchurch.org.uk/event

4pm: COMMUNITEA!
Cakes and refreshments with a Shoreditch Shakespeare twist - Midsummer Night’s Cream (Tea), Oranges and Lemons fizzler, Burbage Brownies, Cheese and Hamlet sandwiches. Bring a cake or bring a fork and an appetite!

5pm: MUSIC AND POETRY WORKSHOP: Composer Deborah Pritchard and poet David Neita lead an improvised session combining poetry and music. They invite you to create your own words and music inspired by Shoreditch, exploring the river that runs inside us and the community.

Kayleigh and Alice lead their community session of spiritual creativity - newcomers and curious especially welcome
