Last night was simply a BLAST!! Thank you all dear friends who came and enjoyed with us 9 incredible short films and documentaries at Tainted Love, 93 Feet East on the hottest summer night this year!
We've had a fantastic time and really hope you did, too! Special thanks to all of the filmmakers part-taking in our panel discussion, namely (left to right) Lois Norman & Ope Sarah Lori ('SHE IS JUICED'), Rooster Ray ('DON'T CALL ME A D**K'), Matty Crawford ('LOVE HOTEL'), Gab...riel Calderwood ('1st JUNE') and last but certainly not least, Sarah Kershaw ('FOUR PLAY'). You guys triggered a very interesting Q&A and conversation with our audience, so enjoyable!

A husband and wife in a dwindling #marriage spend the night together in a LOVE HOTEL as a desperate attempt to regain the #intimacy in their #relationship. Only for the wife to discover she has lost her wedding ring inside the rectal cavity of her husband.
Matty Crawford is a writer/director and 2018 Sundance Ignite Fellow. Having recently graduated from the University of Gloucestershire his short films have screened at BAFTA recognised festivals and collected a number of awards such as; ‘Best Director Award’ at the Kodak/Nahemi Competition and a ‘New Talent Award’ at this year’s BFI Future Film Festival.
He has recently finished production on a new short film funded by the Arts Council England for Channel 4's Random Acts, as his next short film 'LOVE HOTEL' premieres at London Short Film Festival in 2018. _________

A Short Film By Lois Norman exploring work on Pleasure & the #FemaleBody by #VisualArtist, Ope Sarah Lori.
In She is Juiced: Slice Two - Ope Lori, we explore British Nigerian Visual Artist, Ope Lori’s work, as she highlights the dark corners of online #Pornography and the #Erotic, re-frames racial and #Lesbian stereotypes and lets the concept of #desire, the #body and pleasure nurture her creativity. Specialising in using video and #photography in her political practice Ope has now shown nationally and internationally alongside world revered artists such as Kara E Walker and Ayana V Jackson.
In this slice of film, trailblazing British Caribbean Artist, Sonia Boyce MBE RA and LGBTQIA+ Fine Art Photographer, Ajumu, whose own work reflects Ope’s in the exploration of same-sex desire and the Black body, help pull into focus, an exciting snapshot exploring sexual pleasure and sexuality, gender and difference and… a new way of looking.
This short film is a quarter slice of 'She Is Juiced', a first feature for Creative Artist #LoisNorman which she filmed entirely solo. It explores the work and lives of Four #LGBTQIA+ Female Identifying Artists. Lois was invited to screen 'She Is Juiced' at Tate Britain in 2017, both as part of Tate’s ground Breaking Exhibition, Queer Britain and to launch London Pride 2017 and has just won Best Art Film at New Renaissance Film Festival Amsterdam and Best Documentary Brighton Rocks UK! _________

The White liquid is followed by multicolored sprinkles which act together to freeze the lovers in place. They rest there, mid kiss, encapsulated forever in that moment. _________

#NilByMouth is an #experimental short by #NewYork based, Australian writer/director Kaye Tuckerman. Based on her personal experience with #Anorexia, and her struggle with #bodyimage and #beauty as dictated by contemporary western society and the media. Nil by Mouth explores the notion of beautiful, #sexualised, #objectified, healthy imagery, juxtaposed with harsh, cruel, unhealthy broken language. There is a belief that an anorexics relationship to body image will remain #dismorphic for years after they are 'well'. In this experimental short, the protagonist attempts to understand this life long battle and trajectory. (*please note, there is nudity in this film). _________
