Hi everyone. After a summer of amazingly energetic sibling Camps in Wales for kids in care, I hope you forgive me for having little time to keep you informed. Now preparing our 2nd five day 'Creative Retreat for CareLeavers'. 5 relaxing days of creativity, writing, poetry, walks by the sea, art, discussions, cooking meals & exchanging ideas, relaxing at 'The Open Nest' based in Whitby, Yorkshire. From Monday 10th to Friday 14th September; We will provide all Food & fantastica...lly Quirky Accommodation will be guaranteed!. Following from our 1st retreat in July; I think it's important to mention that we are acutely aware that meeting new people can seem a terrifying prospect, also being away from your secure base may seem a big ask of yourself. You will be in excellent company with others who've a good understanding & shared life experiences.. As an Artist and Art Therapist I strongly believe in the transformative aspects of creativity. We intend to hold a safe respectful space, welcoming creativity and fun!.. There is space for 10 Careleavers, a chance to share this week.. You must be prepared to make your own travel arrangements, or secure a lift!. Look forward to hearing from you.. Delma

Everyone has arrived safely for camp, all amazingly enthusiastic bubbly and currently playing chaos tag on the grounds outside with our energetic dream team. One returnee had his suitcase packed a month in advance! for this his very special time with his sibling. Thank you massively to everyone of you who have helped make these camps possible for the children. It's such an honour to be here 10 years on, sharing their lives, sharing their laughter, seeing familiar faces, familiar voices, all growing up with us. Never underestimate the positive power of siblings! and the importance of these positive bonds.

Had an incredible day yesterday with groups of siblings in care. I was bursting with Joy seeing their fun, playing together, smiling together, eating their picnic together, walking and travelling across London together. Brothers playing football, bouncing on the trampoline in the adventure playground together, girls brushing hair, giggling, talking, chilling, what could be more normal!. Setting off again now for another Siblings Together day Happy days!!.
