Storm in a yogurt tub I think it’s fair to say that some people are angry or should we say ‘cross’ that the famous image of the blue domed church in Santorini, Greece, as it appears on the packs of Eridanous from Lidl and Tolonus from Geronimo Martins, is missing the holy cross. Maybe someone wanted to avoid religious connotations!

We’re proud to say that our international exposure has increased as we now have our very first client in Afghanistan. A soft drinks company that competes with Coca Cola and Pepsi. Next up may be our first client in Iran!

Beautiful Port bottle from Marks & Spencer. Not following the look of typical traditional Port bottles. Opting for a modern, sophisticated and elegant presentation.

Great structural design is enduring. The Raffaello star, originally created by us for Ferrero Germany, now in stores across Europe.

The selected design features red Dutch tulips in a field with a prominent Tulip standing proud in the foreground but in the shape of an Edam ball, complemented by strong Judi branding. Following the successful launch of Judi's Edam cheese, we followed a similar floral theme for Gouda cheese but this time choosing yellow Tulips to match the yellow gouda ball.

Character branding is a great way to attract consumer attention and have a brand spokesperson to ‘talk’ to the consumers. However, creating one that has universal appeal, where often the consumers are children and the purchasers are adults, is very difficult.
The Moudi character seen here is used to endorse some of Judi Foods (Libya) products, yet had to go through a huge exploration of what type of character, animal, abstract, animated fruit, alien etc., would be suitable for the target audience.
You can see how the character appears on pack in the ‘Portfolio’ section under Judi Foods, on our web site.

Colours form a huge part of a brand's character and image. The shade of a specific colour evokes different associations and feelings. Our job is to determine which colours and colour combinatons can help achieve the desired objective. #packagingdesign #brandidentytity #colours

Being distinctive on shelf: just a simple change of the cap shape on this tube of cheese spread gives the brand real distinction on shelf. The chef’s hat shape is fun and attractive for children and yet gives an indication to the purchaser that this is a quality product. The graphics work in harmony with the ‘hat’. Sometimes it’s just about making a simple change or asking the question about what else is achievable, that makes the difference. We don’t have to accept standardised packaging.
The brand was found in an Albert Heijn supermarket in the Netherlands.

A variation of our creation. Colours can be changed, size can be modified but class design remains class. Created by SiebertHead in 2000.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. This is proof positive. We have seen quite a few brands basing their designs on our Raffaello architecture.

Cultural differences vary so much. What is a beautiful package might not be so in another country. Here we have cookies packaging in Vietnam. We must think like the consumer of the market we work in.

Psychology of technology within packaging design
Stimulation seeking is a very strong innate psychological drive - to pay attention to and explore the novelty in an environment. Human nature and evolution is all about finding better and better solutions, finding differences and advancing - that’s what made humans invent tools, religion, art. New technologies are usually associated with a better quality of life - saving time or effort (you are advancing). Also reducing effort (work) was always an indication of higher status in society - if you can save your time and energy using new technology ( or any new tool or labour saving device), then you were advanced.
