It’s been a busy summer and although I’m always careful about what I eat, there’s been a few slip ups, especially with the carbs! Over the last 2 weeks I’ve been doing a few 24 hour fasts in an attempt to get my body into a condition where the cells start using the old worn out ones as fuel (Autophagy) I thought during these fasts, I may have lost weight, but sadly no! so I’m now back to following my own, 6 week health and weight loss challenge! It works wonders for myself an...d many of my clients. My aim over the next few days is to replace all meals with a delicious smoothie, along with the usual,30 mins of brisk walking and NO SUGAR! Today’s delicious smoothie- Chunk of cucumber Half teaspoon on nutmeg Cup of kefir or full fat yogurt 1 carrot Half a small grated sweet potato 1 Apple Half teaspoon of turmeric Tablespoon of chia seeds Top up with water or coconut water

We all love summertime-sunshine, seaside, flowers and all those adorable buzzing insects🐝🐝🐝However, our poor bodies may be put to the test-sunburn, drying (but nourishing) salty sea water, pollen and insect bites😳 This summer, prepare yourself with aloe vera gel and a selection of amazing essential oils! Here’s my top oils for summer- 🌺Lavender for its anti inflammatory and soothing properties. Perfect for sunburn, hay fever and insect bites. 🍋Lemon for its anti septic anti v...iral and anti fungal properties. Keep by the pool, to help prevent verrucas and athletes foot. 🌱Peppermint for its cooling anti inflammatory properties. Applyon the temples for sun headaches and as an after sun soother. 🌺Geranium for its balancing and anti bacterial properties, plus repelling insects. 🎋Patchouli for its anti fungal and antiseptic properties. Use along with lemon and lavender to keep fungal issues at bay, as well as treating insect bites.
🌿After sun-5 tablespoons of aloe vera, 10 tablespoons of coconut oil, 10 drops of lavender, 3 drops of peppermint, 3 drops of geranium, 3 drops of patchouli. Pop in a dark jar and keep cool. 🌿Headache relief-2 tablespoons of aloe vera 5 drops of peppermint. Massage into temples. 🌿Anti fungal balm-2 tablespoons of aloe vera, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, 4 drops of lemon, 3 drops of lavender, 3 drops of patchouli. 🌿Insect bites-2 tablespoon of aloe vera, 2 drops of each lavender, patchouli and geranium. Or apply 1 drop of neat lavender. 🌿Soothing after sun spray-teaspoon of aloe gel, 10l of water or frankincense water, 5 drops of lavender, 4 drops of peppermint,3 drops of patchouli, 3 drops of geranium. Keep safe and happy in the sun!⛱🐝🕶☀️ REMINDER-avoid citrus oils in the sun.

What’s your thoughts on fasting? Many of you already do it as part of your religion. I’ve currently been doing an 18 hour fast over the last few days and working towards a 24 hour fast at least once per week. I’m fitting it in with my lifestyle, so it suits me best to eat within a 6 hour period, which means my last food intake is between 6-7pm. This isn’t for weight loss, but for the many health and wellbeing benefits associated with it.... I have to say I feel better and have no hunger pangs. There’s a lot of positive scientific evidence to back this up. It’s not for everyone , so if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, underweight or have been ill, it’s best avoided. When breaking the fast I do so with a smoothie and then eat as many alkalising foods, topped up with good fats in the form of olive oil, seeds and nuts. Reflexology is now my favorite form of therapy. Jean is an expert and can quickly pick up on any ailments you may have. The professional way in which she delivers her therapy and advice is both reassuring and very informative. I can not recommend a visit to Jean highly enough.

Jean is a hive of knowledge when it it comes down to nutrition and skincare. She helped me sort out my son's bad acne problems. His skin is now clear. I have also purchased some of Jeans products. The Eye Therapy is amazing! Have only been using it a week and can see and feel the difference already.
