The ‘DMR’ (semi auto sniper) rules here changed in February 2019.
The new limit is: 450fps (1.88 joules) on .2gm bbs DMRs will however, be chronographed on .36gm bbs which which will be: 335fps.
... ‘Locked off’ AEGs are permitted but the ‘lock’ must be what we call a ‘in depth mechanical method’ such as, but not necessarily limited to, a modified selector plate. It must involve the complete removal of the gearbox to convert it back to an AEG.
Bolts or screws etc through the receiver will not be acceptable.
The minimum inner barrel length must be at least 14” (356mm)
Software locks are not acceptable until further notice.
A 30 metre minimum engagement distance (MED) applies at all times.
Only one bb ‘in flight’ is permissible at any time from a DMR.
We will monitor the situation with regards to these new rules and random checks on muzzle velocity and a players ability to judge distances quickly and with reasonable accuracy.
We are open minded to other ‘locking off’ methods but they must be investigated thoroughly before being considered for implementation. Please don’t send messages regarding this as I prefer face to face discussion on things like this. There is less chance of miss understanding all round.
Find me on site any Sunday if you would like to discuss this. Jim.
