Listen to me rambling some nonsense about Slough Swapmeet and it’s new new venue in Newbury.

This year Slough Swapmeet is going to be at Newbury Racecourse, NEWBURY RG14 7PN.

When we first took on Slough Swapmeet all we really wanted was to bring it back to the busy times. We never imagined we’d be outgrowing venues.
Last year we moved to Bracknell Leisure Centre, which was a step up but still the parking was painful and too much for the Leisure Centre and their regular users (...don’t ask them to walk too far before a gym work out!).
We had to find a new venue...again. Unfortunately proper venues, with proper parking and no angry gym goers do co...st more money (and this is the elephant in the room).
Well, we’ve got a date pencilled in for this year 10th November 2019 at Newbury Racecourse but before we actually go-for-it, we wanted to run through the new ideas for this year:
So Newbury is the same floor space as we’ve currently had but 1,000 + parking (without sharing it with a Leisure Centre), this is much more than we’ve had before.
Public entry: £5 entry 10:30 (£5 is the same price as before) NEW £8 early entry from 9:30
Traders: £30 per 6ft x 2ft6 table (same price as before) not on the wall NEW £40 per table against the wall Each booking includes 2 wristbands, £8 per additional trader wristbands (for 3 or more tables we can discuss) NEW £30 deposit per booking, available at the end of the day (3PM)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
It’s going to be a tough one next year finding a new venue (again) but We know we’ve got a lot of support and that really does help!
As well as looking after Slough Swapmeet we try to get out to other shows too. Here are a few pics from this year’s events, hope to see you somewhere soon (Spares Day, Mol, Dub Freeze and Ninove up first)

Took a run out this morning to the Chelsea Split Screen Cruise (Xmas edition) - couldn’t stay too long but it was cool to meet up!

Harder than you think.
Trying to find the right venue is hard work! When we first took on the Swapmeet a few years ago our biggest concern was whether we could make it busy again. Well, we certainly did that but that has bought a new problem.
This year we moved the event to Bracknell Leisure Centre which is nicer venue with some more parking in the hope this was going to fix it but then even more people came! ...unfortunately too many people to hold it at Bracknell Leisure Ce...ntre again.
So we need to look for a new venue again.
I know some might think this is easy but I can assure you it’s harder than you think - to keep the event ‘Slough Swapmeet’ it needs to be similar size inside but with double the parking! The cost needs to stay cheap for traders and public...there really aren’t that many venues that fit without the event changing quite a bit.
We are seeing another place v.soon, and we’ll let you know how that goes - any ideas please pop it in the comments below.

Really impressed when people travel so far to come to Slough Swapmeet. This is Ma We’s Ratty ‘56 split parked (and camped over!) from this year!

Will be heading over to Mol, Belgium again early next year for this (this is the week after ‘Spares Day’).
It’s a Swapmeet especially for aircooled VWs, indoors similar to Slough Swapmeet. Worth the journey to find some quality bits early in the year!
