Somebody Else’s Clothes is a curated collection of wearable vintage and secondhand clothing and accessories. Each piece is affordable and can be readily integrated into any contemporary wardrobe, enabling you to maintain a fresh and modern aesthetic without blowing your entire paycheck. We offer a straightforward and easily browsable shopping experience for anyone who has ever tried thrift shopping (but felt overwhelmed by rack upon rack of the unknown), for those who like the idea of rummaging through piles of clothing to find a lost piece of sartorial history (but can’t be bothered), and for people who are actually just very busy and important.
We’ve done all of the tedious work for you, handpicking each piece in New York and London. Inspired by how the cities’ residents interpret classic styles and current trends, our clothes reflect a transatlantic sensibility that tends toward timeless pieces infused with a bit of luxury and what’s new. While we love some brands more than others, we try to see beyond labels and focus instead on cut and quality.
A native New Yorker and natural clotheshorse (read: clothes hoarder), founder Jacqueline Genser has spent years trawling through thrift shops, flea markets, and anywhere else vintage might be found. With her discerning eye and a lot of serendipity, Jackie founded Somebody Else’s Clothes to encourage a more sustainable approach to fast fashion and to facilitate the collection of high quality staples.
