About Spinal Research

We need your help to find effective treatments for traumatic spinal cord injury that will restore sensation and movement.

Spinal Research Description

Spinal Research, charity 1151015, was founded in 1980 to fund research into spinal cord injury and repair.

Our aim is to restore sensation and mobility to people paralysed as a result of a spinal cord injury - our vision is a world where spinal cord injury does not mean a lifetime of paralysis.

We fund our pioneering research through donations, as we receive no government funding. You can support us at www. spinal-research.org

World Tandem's Lloyd and Louis are setting off today from Adelaide on their around the world tandem bicycle challenge. Hoping to beat the world record and taking the best part of a year, they are raising funds for Spinal Research and the Brain Foundation. We wish them a safe journey and look forward to posting updates on what is going to be an incredible undertaking. Specialist repair cells involved in muscle repair turn into foe, increasing muscle damage, in models of spinal cord injury, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)
