I am a strong believer in consistent training all year round. I need this for, not just my physical body - but mainly for my health and keeping my mind healthy and happy. ... A lot of people like to train towards an event: a holiday, wedding etc and that’s ok too! I would recommend giving yourself at least 12 weeks of regular training and fuelling your body with a good diet to get the best results.

You might be tempted to skip your cool down stretch - but taking a few minutes to relax your mind and body has many benefits that are essential at the end of your workout.
Cooling down allows your heart rate and breathing to return to normal (cardiovascular recovery) and prevents your blood pressure from dropping too rapidly. Your heart has been working hard, pumping the oxygenated blood around the body. A rapid cessation can cause blood pooling, which... in turn can cause dizziness and fainting.
Stretching prevents muscle and joint stiffness and soreness and will lengthen and strengthen your muscles for your next workout.
