SL Catholic Chaplaincy in the UK has initiated a monthly Sinhala Catholic Mass every 2nd Sunday of the month at St Michael and St Martin church in Hounslow (West London).
Srilankan Catholic Chaplaincy Hounslow Description
Mass Details:
The mass is held in Sinhalese language. Sinhalese hymns are sung by the Choir with live music during the mass. Offertory procession is generally led by a family where anyone can join in the possession with their own offertory items. The full text of the mass (such as prayers, responses and lyrics of the hymns) is projected on the 2 big screens at the front of the church where congregation can easily follow the mass.
Location: St. Michael and St. Martin Church, 94 Bath Road, Hounslow, Middlesex, TW3 3EH.
Located very close to Hounslow High Street, about 10 minutes walkfrom Hounslow Central Tube station and not far from the Hounslow BUS station.
Mass Date and Time: The mass is held at 4. 00pm every second Sunday of the month. Mass is celebrated by the Srilankan Sinhalese Catholic Chaplain Rev. Fr. Rohitha Rodrigo.
Please note the mass starts at 4. 00pm sharp as there is another evening scheduled Sunday English mass in the church after this Sinhalese mass and church should be free for the next mass. Kindly observe silence at all times when you are inside the church including before and after the mass.
Confessions: Father is hearing confessions in Sinhalese or English from 3. 00pm to 3. 45pm prior to the mass. Those who wish to have confession kindly come early as there is only 45 minutes slot for this.
Refreshments after Mass: Refreshments are being served after the mass at the parish hall at the back of the church. Please proceed to the church hall after mass. This will give an opportunity to all those who attended the holy mass to socialise during this brief gathering session.
Those who wish to bring any refreshments for this after mass brief gathering are most welcome.
Other: Those who wish to join choir, take part in reading or intentions, or any organising activities, please contact any of the organising committee members.
