St Giles-In-The-Fields Description

We express our mission of Christian hospitality by being open for prayer and quiet throughout the week, by offering hospitality to all who join our worship and by hosting community events and support groups. We also have unique historic spaces available for hire as concert, performance and meeting venues.

In an age when many are looking for a disciplined way of spirituality and a more meditative style of worship, St Giles has much to offer. Through preaching and study we aim to present ancient Christian insight for a modern world, so that we may grow in faith and understanding. And for those times when we just need to talk and be heard, here too we can offer time to listen and a heart to reassure. You will find our congregation welcoming, supportive and friendly.

We will be holding a special Evensong during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity during which we will commemorate a group of Catholic priests executed in the late Seventeenth century and buried in our churchyard. We will be joined by the Auxillary Bishop of Westminster and the Archdeacon of London, as well as many of our friends from the local Catholic community. After the service a new plaque will be unveiled to commemorate these events in the north lobby. Do join us for this special service - everyone is welcome.

was in london not that long ago, and I had the opportunity to see this church, very creepy in the dark, best to never make any changes to this churches exterior, it makes for some good halloween spooktacular fun, just throw some fake giant cobwebs over the church grounds and have a smoke machine making some smoke to add to the scare factor. and hey presto you gotta set for some fun.

User

The choir gives one a glimpse of heaven. Beautiful palladian church with quite a baroque feel. Sung mass is very high church.

User

Stopped in for Easter service and enjoyed every minute. I have very fond memories here, It’s a gem in the middle of the city. I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m in London.

User

Lovely church , a warm pastoral community and Rev Alan is a great preacher .

User

I was surprised by how Oliver Twist musical turned this beautiful theatre into a city of fog in front of the collage with changing background lights !

User

Great location for shows like Oliver. Really enjoyed it.

User

Came today on a "Sunday off" and was privileged to hear Curate Michael Lynch preach the most inclusive homily I have heard in a long time. Thank you! 10/10.

User

it's known as the poets church. it's lovely inside and if you're in the area it's nice to check out as it's free but I wouldn't go out of my way unless you're a fan of victorian poets.

User

Went to a concert here not a service, lovely inside friendly feel x

User

Really good experience for the 21rpm Music Festival (except for Leila, the woman dj, totally crap).
