London International Gospel Choir evolved from the award-winning London Youth Gospel Choir, and has become a strong social network – ideal for those who want to sing and make new friends.
The choir is non-auditioned, but gives members the chance to work on vocal, theoretical and performance skills, with help from the music team. There are also opportunities for solo singing and working in small groups.
We sing secular and spiritual music in a gospel style – rich in harmony and full of movement and expression. Our repertoire features music by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Whitney Houston, Kirk Franklin and Kurt Carr, along with songs from shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, and films including The Preacher’s Wife and of course Sister Act.

Discover St Martin’s Café in the Crypt – a much loved café by day and a great venue for live music and fabulous food in the evening. The original Georgian architecture creates a funky backdrop and a wonderful acoustic for some of the best bands in London.
Mississippi Swamp Dogs presents “A Night In New Orleans,” a celebration of the rich variety of music from the Crescent City. This presentation has been featured and loved at Ronnie Scott’s, The Hideaway, The Bulls Head in Ba...rnes, all the major Jazz Clubs in London.
Stroll through New Orleans’ legendary French Quarter and you’ll be entranced by some of the most joyous, most danceable, most irresistible sounds heard anywhere on the planet. The Mississippi Swamp Dogs take the best of these much loved songs and present them in a tuneful, high-energy show that will draw you in and keep everyone smiling.
If you love the music of Fats Domino, the Neville Brothers, Dr John, Louis Prima, Professor Longhair, and the great Louis Armstrong, you’ll go crazy for this band. The Dogs offer a riotous mixture of funk, Cajun, soul, rock ‘n’ roll, old style shuffles, and Latin rhythms. And more than these New Orleans masters, you can expect to hear the music of BB King, The Crusaders, Lynyrd Skynrd, and many other renowned artists associated with the rich musical heritage of the American.

TJ Johnson is widely considered to be one of the UK’s finest jazz and blues singers. He is also an accomplished piano player, drummer and a respected bandleader.
Always a true ambassador of the soul, TJ sings songs of love ...lost and gained, of life wholesome and corrupt, songs of hope, songs of the night, all with the true passion and boozy swagger of only a man who has been there and knows.
Backed by his group of top British musicians TJ plays an extraordinary blend of music that transcends the boundaries of jazz, blues, soul, country and gospel and is influenced by the likes of Ray Charles, Dr John, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Cash, BB King, Nina Simone, Alberta Hunter, Jimmy Witherspoon and many more. His distinctive voice and unique personal stage manner brings both the band and the audience together to create an intimate yet exciting atmosphere rarely equalled.

What an honor it was for Sarah and Dom to be married in this historic church where his parents were wed right on Tragalgar Square in London ! Then we toured the city on a double decker bus on the way to the venue.

User

We walked in off the street, have visited the church several times before , there was an orchestra having a practice for the evening performance, what a truely fab experience , sat and listened for almost an hour, the whole atmosphere was truely magnificent , thank you .

User

Such a wonderful place and the events, in special the Lectures. The caffee in the crypt and the architecture is amazing.

User

Such a fabulous oasis right in the hustle & bustle of the centre of London. The crypt cafe is a great place to get away from the outdoor hubbub and reset yourself before going back out to continue your mission. The church does such worthy works for the local community especially the homeless. The staff are all so helpful and the building is a source of many wonders. We had a great tour during the Open House London weekend in September a few years ago and the reverend couldn't have been more informative and interesting, such a nice man. There were many musicians practising in the basement sound booths as we toured round and it sounded wonderful.... I can imagine the concerts are a real delight.

User

It is a fantastic small church. It is located next to the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and Trafalgar Square. The atmosphere is quiet. I highly recommend to go to this church!

User

I attended the 10am service with my Dad. We are on holiday from Australia. The service was lovely. The choir is excellent, very skilled and sounds amazing. The sermon was great as well, well matched to the readings and relevant to the SMitF congregation as well as the broader community.

User

Great ambience listening to a concert last night 5th March. Wonderful space in the Crypt for eating ,drinking and socialising.

User

Fantastic small church, love the atmosphera.. I was there for a concert, people working in there are very polite and helpful , definitely I recommend to go to this place

User

Enjoyed lunchtime and evening concerts . Place so mysterious so magic so quiet so relaxed. Will be back soon. Thank you for looking after so well

User

Church does such good work with the homeless. Relaxing to sit and listen to a rehearsal for the mid-day concert. The bistro is good value and relaxed with decent food and coffee

User

Came up to London on Thursday to see London Lumiere . Called in to get a programme and a had cake and coffee in the crypt cafe . We liked it so much came back later and had a meal in between trekking across London . The only criticism, and it’s small is that the gluten free dumplings didn’t work very well with the beef stew. Other than that it was a lovely meal . First time I’ve been here , but shall come back next time I’m in London

User

Beautiful church and a gorgeous choral concert of sacred music featuring The Saint Martin’s Voices. If you love music, believe me when I say that you’ve never TRULY heard great choral music until you’ve heard it live from a professional English choir!

User

Wonderful time so relaxing and mind blowing . Thank you to all involved in it. @

User

The Crypt cafe is a favourite of my family whenever we are up in town, it's rather an interesting place full of interesting people. A tad expensive for what is sometimes not the best quality meal, hence 4 stars instead of 5

User

Quick visit yesterday, will definitely return for an evening performance in the summer. One of London’s hidden treasures amongst the vast tourist sites.

User

I have been patronising the Cafe in the Crypt from its inception in the 1970s (or was it before - tempus fugiit!) and have observed its development and continuing success.

I now live in North Yorkshire but still lunch at The Crypt as often as I can when I pay my frequent visits to London.

I love St. Martin's Cafe in the Crypt and long may it flourish, but an ongoing disappointment for me as a diabetic, is the continuing absence of any alternative to the dessert of the day. So someone like myself has to forego the desert course.

Is it too much to ask that an alternative to a sugary dessert be made available, such as cheese and biscuits or fruit salad, and/or a small selection of fresh fruit?

Even if my suggestion is ignored, St. Martin's will always have a special place in my affections. It is unique.

User

Beautiful church, with great facilities provided.

Great Vivaldi concert last night.

Staff very polite and helpful.

Only challenge is maximising numbers with a number of seats which dont provide much of a view of the stage.

User

Always a favorite, I like it ever better when it's not tourist season. Also a good place to grab a quick bite before or after the concert.

User

A little gem hidden away. Lovely food and drinks. Felt it was under staffed and one lady was doing all the work. Meant we were waiting a while. She copes well though.
