We have received a lot of messages recently showing interest in our First Holy Communion.
St Mary's Grantham offers a programme of First Confession and First Holy Communion sessions each year.
We will soon be accepting applications for 2019. Sessions start in January and spaces are limited.
... Please like this page to receive updates.
These sessions are designed to prepare Roman Catholic children of St Mary's parish for their First Holy Communion which takes place in June each year at the Church. The children will also prepare for their First Confession.
Preparation for First Holy Communion occurs with children aged 7 (school year 3) and above.
The children are taught by the Priest Father Chris and parishioners who volunteer their time to be catechists (teachers).
The lessons are free of charge but there is a small fee for work books and other material.
Further information to follow in due course.
We will put a notice on here when application forms are available from Father Chris.

There is No First Holy Communion Session this Sunday. The next session will be on Sunday 22nd April 2018 at 9.25.
The reason why there are no sessions for four weeks is because we ask that the children attend the masses within Holy Week and spend this special time with the family.
Holy week is extremely important to the preparation for receiving First Holy Communion. The role of the parent/guardian is essential. Your child is ultimately prepared by you; in your Christian hom...e, your family prayers, your shared reading with your child, and your regular attendance at Mass. Our work as Catechists is to support and supplement your work, never to replace it. Therefore we kindly ask that you take the time to bring your child to as many masses as possible during Holy Week.
Palm Sunday Saturday 24th March 6pm, Sunday 25th March 8am or 10am.
Confessions with Visiting Priests Monday 26th March - 7pm
Maundy Thursday Thursday 29th March 7.30pm the Mass of the Lord’s Last Supper
Good Friday Friday 30th March 3pm - Liturgy of the Passion 7.30pm - Stations of the Cross followed by Confessions
Holy Saturday Saturday 31st March 1pm - Blessing of Polish Easter Foods 7.30pm Easter Vigil; the First Easter Mass (No 6pm mass)
Easter Sunday 31st March - 8am and 10am as normal.
Wishing you all a peaceful and blessed Easter.
